Can we start negotiating a max extension with Kyrie on July 1st?
Yes, and that's exactly what the team plans to do.

Kyrie has superstar potential. We all know it because we all see it. The problem is he still doesn't understand how to play defense or make his teammates better. That's why the team didn't miss him last season. This is what makes the Coach Blatt hire so intriguing. When he sees problems he tends to fix em.Here are some numbers I have a real problem with:
Cavs over all record last year, 33-49 40% winning percentage
71 games Kyrie played in, 27-43 38% winning percentage
11 games Kyrie missed, 5-6 45% winning percentage
All six losses were to playoff teams by nine points or less.
How many other teams play better without their star player?

Kyrie is a huge problem, but once fixed, will become a huge problem for everybody else.

So we dump Waiters to keep Kyrie happy, and what if the hero ball continues? We look like complete fucking idiots! We talk about bring in vets, they don't want to put up with that shit. It took Loul Deng about 10 games to figure it out.
If you want to know how the Cavs do with Kyrie vs. without Kyrie, just look at plus/minus stats. Any other approach is prone to bias and distorts the issue.

Totally agree. Dumping young talent is foolish. Blatt will do better with all our young talented players.I'm so sick of people trying to trade one or the other before we even see what Blatt can do with them, not to mention Lue specifically wants to make them play off of each other better... especially with a competent wing like Wiggins playing off both of them instead of Gee. Waiters has that cocky swagger and plays with a chip on his shoulder, and is extremely talented. Let's play a few games with them all before playing GM and trying to get rid of one or the other.
Too small a sample size in my opinion. Two more losses and it is the same record with Kyrie as without. Here are some numbers I have a real problem with:

Wins and loses are the bottom line, period. Last time I checked, plus/miss didn't win titles. I guess if your a Kyrie fan, you best avoid the issue. Would the Heat play better basketball without Lebron, or the Thunder without KD, or the lakers without Kobe?
