Hard to run a motion offense when your primary offensive players are ball dominant. I don't think it's going to be pretty. I don't expect Kyrie and Waiters to be on the team together to start the season. Just doesn't fit with what the coach wants to do.

Waiters was working on being less ball dominant at the end of last year. I expect that to continue.

That means if Kyrie can't become less of a ball dominant guard, he is more likely to be on the outs. I doubt that he'll be stubborn.

I actually think that both will get onboard and will grow as off the ball players. They'll grow quite a bit last year.

So we dump Waiters to keep Kyrie happy, and what if the hero ball continues? We look like complete fucking idiots! We talk about bring in vets, they don't want to put up with that shit. It took Loul Deng about 10 games to figure it out.
The Cavs would look like even bigger idiots if they dumped Kyrie only to watch him blossom elsewhere. I'm pretty sure most Cavs fans want to give Blatt a chance to work with his most talented player before pawning him off.

I hope you're right, Kyrie is one of the best young player in the league. I thought the Cavs had way more talent than their record reflected last year. I would be nice to see that talent show up in the win column.

Why dump Kyrie he is one of the top point guards in the league. Yes his defense leaves a lot to be desired but he's young. His skill level is top shelf, no way do I trade him.

With the talent addition of Wiggins and some outside shooting, and whomever we get in free agency/trades and the second season of Bennett, and the expected excellent coaching from Blatt, and the expected max contract from the Cavs, we may find a different Kyrie, one not intent on trying to get a max contract, one who trusts his better teamates better, one who is more relaxed and open to good coaching.

If we should start winning games under Blatt, I think you will see Kyrie buying in to the team concept more.

We shall see, but I have a lot more hope this year than I ever did last year.

You don't dump a guy like Kyrie, period. Stop with the nonsense, we are building for the future with Kyrie, Bennett and Wiggins. Maybe Waiters, depends on how Wiggins plays out.

I may be in the minority but I really think the FO has Kyrie/Wiggins/Bennett as untouchable with Karasev being the next player on that list even above Dion and TT.

Not only are you in the minority but you're probably the only one who thinks that.

This is laughable... Karasev has hardly played, and when he has played he has looked below average, although it was small sample size. Meanwhile Dion has gotten major minutes and produced, and even looked like an all-star at stretches. Why you have Karasev untouchable above Dion is beyond me.

I think it's only Kyrie/Wiggins. Everyone can be had but I think only TT can be moved for whatevers. :chuckles:

i recall people saying the same thing when the nets traded stephon marbury who had done nothing but earn all star appearences with the club.

If the Cavs at some point trade Irving it will be for an all star caliber player and it will be because he doesn't want to stay in Cleveland.

I think they basically viewed Karasev as a Euro stash players last year. The little bit of minutes he got last year was a plus. Plenty of the best euro players that came into the league didn't play the first year they were drafted. I think Karasev would have played more had he stayed in Russia for another year but they wanted to get him acclimated here first. I Know based on what we saw last year most people would say he's a bust or that we don't know what we have in him but just like Bennett I think they will both exceed the level of play they displayed before they were drafted and the Cavs used last year as a developmental year for both of them.

They're our project players. you don't trade them before you see your finished product in action. This season seems to be the season they'll let Bennett loose and we'll know what we have. With Karasev it may take another year, but with Blatt being the new head coach he may be getting the same push they give Bennett.

Two things really stand out to me. During griffins press conference he went out of his way to mention Karasev and how the team values him. With Bennett Griffin has done the same and Dan Gilbert has been very supportive of him and thinking more long term when he talks about Bennett. I just feel like the organization is 100% invested into both of those players going forward and they view Kyrie and Wiggins as their Superstar Duo.
