There's nothing wrong with Kyrie's court vision or passing ability, just look at some of his passes last night, including that pass to Tristan. He's such a gifted score that sometimes the right play is for him to take the shot, especially when he's exploiting a mismatch or has the hot hand. He will learn from LeBron how to balance that with keeping teammates involved.
I've watched him extensively: the number of times he passes back to the 3 point line after he drives only happens if a person is in the corner and he is driving baseline (i.e. in his direct line of sight).
If you don't believe me go back to the game thread against Denver where 5 different posters noted the same thing (but is not the first or last instance). On a ball swing he had a wide open Lebron with no one within 10 feet of him to his right: did not see him at all and drove. He's not selfish but his passes all come from direct line of sight looks. You tend to split players into guys who can do no wrong: Irving is absolutely a great player but he has some rather obvious flaws. What's interesting this year there are some things that he's trying harder like on defense and other things that the team is trying to correct for (Lebron has been the PG for the last two games)
