Kyrie Irving

Kyrie is one of those few players that now doesn't surprise me when they go full scale video game mode hitting every shot and putting up 10-15 points in a short time-frame.

Actually played solid D for a large portion of the game too. Still some issues, but Kyrie is really damn good.

Kyrie isn't turning the ball over, hitting a few open, getting to the line (highest FTr of career thus far), is getting out on the break, is shooting efficiently (57% TS% after tonight), and is at least trying on defense. He's always had quick hands to get those steals.

Irving is a stud, plain and simple. He's learning how to play off Lebron and balancing his game between score/pass and jumper/drive.

Scary thing is he is only 22.
I'm happy for Kyrie. He so needed a mentor and now he has the best in the world. His will blossom more than ever. No more teams triple teaming him. Only if LeBron had somebody like himself when he was youngin. Dam u lucky boy Kyrie.

Kyrie is, as I said he would be, definitely the second best player on the team. I think he'll thrive with LeBron James and Love taking focus away from him.

Last season teams were just doubling him instantly and he couldn't really deal with the pressure. This year, he's playing on both sides of the floor, he's upped his passing game, and it looks like he'll set a career record for scoring (24ppg I think).

Kid is playing out of his mind. Will probably end the season as the second best point guard in the NBA.

Wow watching that video just reminds me how exciting and talented this kid is. 2nd option on the team IMO. Sorry Wes.

I think we're realizing how much Mike Brown retarded Kyrie's growth. Kyrie's ceiling is amazingly high.

Crazy thing is Love can score 40 in any game.. we are loaded on offense.. just gotta tighten the D.. Love and Kyrie can carry this team 4-5 years from now as LeBron keeps developing his old man game... we could have something special

kyrie still has some hero-ball moments in the game, but i think the cavs have to live with that as long as he commits to moving the ball and playing hard defense. he's a great offensive talent and he was scoring against rondo and bradley. he needs to just to learn when to make the right pass and when to make the shot, he's still young and he'll probably get it.

Honestly, the exact same thing is true of LBJ. When you have a guy who is as dominant 1-on-1 as they are, it is inevitable that there are going to be times when they think the best play is simply to beat their man, and that's when it looks like "hero ball." Sometimes, it will be the best play, and other times, it won't be. But I don't think there's really any way for either to ever get completely away from sometimes trying to do too much themselves. It's just part of who they are as players.

Guys the most encouraging thing I read this morning was that during the game Kyrie said to Bron "quit playing so passive!"

In the closing moments of the game, LeBron started taking it to the hoop. I was rejoicing, finally he realized there isn't anybody on Boston who will even attempt to contest the L-Train.

I know he doesn't like to play that way, and there was a time when that was our only play we could count on, so James became irritated because he was being asked to take it to the rack on every possession.

He needs to pick his spots, because LeBron James driving to the hoop is one of the highest percentage looks in the game of basketball. There isn't a player who can stop him when he decides to tiptoe into the lane and get his.

I'm encouraged that Kyrie will speak up and give LBJ a little wake up call. LeBron is one of those players where he might not even realize that he's being passive (because he thinks of it as "getting his teammates involved"). You know and I know, and apparently Kyrie knows that there isn't a player in the league who can stop him when he decides it's time to get his.

I got to admit, I think Kevin Love is a little better all around player, but I'm under the belief that Kyrie is the second guy on this team. And maybe he needs to be the second guy too.

Really, it speaks to his demeanor more than anything. I kinda like it too, he's not shy. And honestly, you need stars that won't be shy when playing with LeBron.

You can't just defer to LeBron all the time, otherwise you'll have more of what you see in the finals. LeBron having to do it all, and others strictly relied on him.

Is anyone else surprised by how quick Kyrie and LeBron are actually fitting in with one another? Since that bad game in Utah, they seem to have really found their stride with each other.

Both are getting their points, both are still getting others involved, even each other. And we still got a long way to go.

I can't be more happy that these two obviously can play with each other. And it's going to get better too.
