Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A lot is made of Lebron's slight decline in athleticism (kinda think now he's just taking it easier and being more cerebral) but the simple fact is that Andy is 32 years old and has dealt with quite a few injuries

Left Knee tendinitis
high ankle sprain
dislocated right shoulder
torn tendon in right ankle
broken right wrist
lung blood clot
back strain

and I feel like I am missing a few...The guy is a soldier. I don't have the numbers on how many charges he has taken during the course of his career but I'm sure he's up there with the league leaders.

TT needs to start at center. He's stronger. Andy will have more freedom to chase down crazy rebounds with the 2nd unit, and he will not get thrown around as much. Also, he will help the 2nd unit more, since he's smarter than TT, while the starters will help TT out.

we've won 9 of the last 11 games. LeBron missed one of the losses. We often jump out to early leads, including the last game where we jumped to a 21-0 lead. Why do we need to change the starting lineup? Why is the rant thread even active?

According to lineup data, the starting lineup with Thompson (which is our second most used) is +34 per 100pos while the same with AV is +3.

That said I don't think Blatt is even thinking of changing it. He did allude to making a change to make the bench more consistent so we'll see but my guess is he sticks to it (we do close games with it) for "continuity's sake" or what I call the Scott Brooks wool.

Maybe not just a starting lineup change but when you start the game 21-0 and then get the game as close as 3 points (against the Hornets) we need some sort of change. Yes, we won 9 of the last 11 but only 3 of those wins were against teams above .500, two of which were against a team without their best scorer. Our game against New York was too close. We lost to a New Orleans team without Anthony Davis. We're going away from Kevin Love after the 1st quarter. LeBron and Kyrie are playing crazy minutes. Andy and Marion are shitting the bed when they get close to the rim. We're letting too many teams go off on us from beyond the arc and under the basket.

I don't care that we've won a few games. There are obvious issues with this team. Lets talk about a team like Golden State. With the way our team is built and is playing on both sides, I have a hard time believing we can beat them in a 7 game series. If David Lee and Bogut are healthy, we can't handle them under the basket. We definitely won't be able to handle Curry and Thompson if we keep going under screens and switching on pick and rolls the way we have. Draymond Green would actually do a good job against LeBron defensively...

So yeah, there are reasons this thread is active. We can beat the shitty teams, but we have to get better to beat elite teams.

Where did those 2 loses come from? West teams. We are 2-6 vs the west this season. I don't know about anyone else but to me that proves we have a flawed roster if we cant compete with the best teams in the league. Beating down on mediocre eastern conference teams every game doesn't prove much. Everybody knows its us vs. Chicago in the east by default barring any major injuries. Id like to see what we can do on a extended west coast trip

I for the life of me don't know why people think the Bulls are locks to be anywhere. TORONTO healthy and Washibgton are just as good and both teams are better offensively. The east Is a 4 team race to me. Wins are wins.

is kyrie/marion/lbj/love/varejao really better (offensively/defensively) than kyrie/wiggins/lbj/tt/hawes?

Marion looks done, it's hard watching him out there.

The defensive scheme reminds me of Mike Brown's in many aspects and the kind of salvo the Hawks let off just surgically picking the scheme apart...

And the offense just isn't good enough to make up for it.

Really concerning...

huh? i thought he was the only player on the floor tonight who played any defense. there's a reason Korver was basically the only one who didn't go off, Marion did a good job staying close to him imo. on offense you're gonna run into problems with him standing in the corner, he just can't shoot...

Blatt has his moments. Honestly when we are struggling what can we say honestly is our go to move on offense to get an easy basket? While we are struggling on defense you have to use your time outs to try to stop the momentum. I think we have to find to get Love, Kyrie and Lebron easy buckets and that would help we have too many empty possessions where Andy is posting up and shooting that ineffective hook shot when we need a bucket.
