I don't know what our plan of Manny is. Imo its not fair what were doing to him. He earned his spot last season
Fair enough, as long as the expectations are realistic. Thompson's number show that scoring close to 20 ppg in the NBDL is possible for many players who will struggle to score in the NBA.
I think Scott's emphasis on D is what's keeping the Cavs from signing Harris.
I understand the Cavs want to keep flexibility as they get closer to the trade deadline but Harangody and Parker are just wasted roster spots at this point. With Boobie injured this would seem to be a good time to bring back Manny even if it's just to provide another healthy body for practice.
That may be so, but the Cavs can't because.
Manny Harris
is
not
under
contract
with
the
Cavs.
is this a running joke, or are people really not getting this?
Is there an issue with signing him to a 10 day?
Why can't they cut Harangody and just pay him the rest of his contract?Yes, they don't have a roster spot. NBA contracts are guaranteed.

They could, i suppose, but is it worth spending that much money on a D-League callup who may not make the team? Makes more sense, then, to wait and get him to Cleveland after a few moves, when a roster spot frees up. Unless of course he goes somewhere else first. If the Cavs are crazy about him, i'm sure they will find a way. If not, i wouldn't sweat it. Unless, of course, he goes all Jeremy Lin somewhere else. Or Matt Barnes. Or Kelenna Azubuike.
I think a lot of you are overestimating Manny's play from last season. Didn't you notice how often a perfect chance for him to play netted him a dnp? Or, minutes I could count on one hand? Clearly, Manny wasn't doing something right that Byron was keeping him on the bench for. I suspect poor defense. Maybe he is a poor practice player. But, regardless, it was clear that Scott gave him a lot less minutes then he could have.

Scott does that with a lot of young players. It's how said players seem to respond that intrigues me. Gee is the obvious example, but even Eyenga and Erdin seem to respond(obviously not to the point of Gee). I just don't see much harm. What does it really hurt to give it a shot? Harangody? Not losing sleep there.
