Manny & Papi failed 03 drug tests

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ortiz in 2000, 130 games 10 home runs 63 RBI. For Minnesota
Ortiz in 2001, 89 games 18 home runs 48 RBI. For Minnesota
Ortiz in 2002, 125 games 20 home runs 75 RBI. For Minnesota
Ortiz in 2003, 128 games 31 home runs 101 RBI. For Boston

Big jump in his stats over those 4 years, especially him before 2000.
Now this year he has been horrible, could it be possible that he has stopped juicing now that they are really cracking down, most likely.

Manny already did his cycle for this year. He won't start sucking until next year.

Not shocking at all, but the news still managed to brighten up the day a bit.

Yup, the continued demise of baseball sure is a joy. :stick:

Sorry, but the fact that it was someone from Boston does bring amusement to an otherwise dreary past couple of days. Almost as amusing was that Red Sox fans were giving the guy a standing O during the game.

Not sure how this continues the demise of baseball anyway. We already knew there was widespread PED use in the past, so this isn't some shocking new revelation. Having the news come out is a good thing. They should release all the names from '03. The wide financial gulf between teams hurts the sport more.

hahaha this is getting funny.

Ortiz is saying he just found out about it, but a baseball official said all the guys who tested positive were told after the test that they failed.

Garciaparra came out and said that guys told the testers to mark them down as yes's just because they wanted steriod testing in baseball so some of those guys could've just said yes to get testing(they needed 5% of the players tested to fail the drug test to get steriod testing in baseball), except it's reported that you actually needed to submit a sample in order for it to have counted....

the other thing here is the legal situation that is going to come of this.... technically, their rights as a citizen are being violated with the names being released since they're supposed to be sealed documents

People are gullible if you think Baseball is the only sport using HGHs & steroids.

I understand that you have to submit a sample, but at the same time, a small bribe could change that. Or anything. Think about it, you're about to get crushed by players that can hit homers better and farther than you, or pitchers that throw better than you. Why not find any way to get your name on that list to even it out. And I like that Jeter isn't on that list. One of the classiest players of all time.

well you gotta keep in mind that this test was anonymous and the names were never supposed to leak and they were supposed to be shredded after the data was gathered

Yeah, Papi has gotta be lying, you were told if you failed. Right now there's 104 guys carrying around a dark secret, knowing this could come out any day.

It's possible he was taking something that was tainted, of course I don't believe any of the lying liars anymore when they say that.

You don't go from this
