Re: Marreese Speights wasn't traded
About Drew Gooden: I dont think his problem was lack of effort, it was lack of BBIQ. During his cavs days he was one of the few that did not give up. I dont see that as being the same as Speights. Speights has basketball sense and is in my opinion a better player when he is interested, but perhaps more like JJ, he needs an attitude adjustment. I would have liked to have seen him traded.
The trade deadline passed and he was not traded to a contender. He knows how to play defense, but did not particulalrly care to do so after february. Basically the good stretch was a showcase moment. Nobody was buying, and he shut it down. I think he is a capable bench big, but chose not to bring it at the end. Maybe he decided or realized he was not part of the cavs future.. Why else would he be coming off the bench for Zeller.So... what happened? Injury? Punishment? Just sitting him? I can't say I'm not relieved, but other than Thompson, can't say much about the others...
