LaPorta found out about the news this afternoon and drove from Columbus to Cleveland and didn't arrive until the 5th inning tonight per Hoynes.

That's why he didn't play.

He's right though isn't he? I mean that will happen eventually, if LaPorta does bud into a star. You obviously don't want to hear it but he's allowed to express frustration with that inevitable outcome.

I think he was referring to the 500K and single A guys part. I dont now why everyone here seems to think Shapiro get's fleeced on his deals. He normally makes out good.

Well, we DID Just get a bunch of single A guys for a pair of All Stars. But yea the $500,000 part was probably just for kicks. :chuckles:

Well, we got 3 Triple A guys in the Lee deal.. In the Martinez deal, it was based around a guy in the majors already... Sure we did get Single A guys but they weren't the base of the deal, at least in my opinion.

By my count we got 1 major leaguer, 3 triple A players, and 3 single A players for Martinez and Lee....

But I mean I guess you were close.

Isn't the "centerpiece" of the Lee deal a guy who is in Single A? I mean sure a solid catching prospect and infield prospect who are almost major league ready is fun, and all...but I don't think they do that deal if Knapp, a Single A prospect, isnt in it.
