Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think the NBA and the Warriors forget Delly is a rugby player... It is his instinct.

Once and for all...Delly never played rugby...very few people play rugby in Victoria where he is from, that would be like saying all kids from Montana play lacrosse...at best he played a little underage Aussie Rules Football...nothing to do with what he played...he just wants the ball more than anyone else on the floor

Everyone flame Nate Duncan. He is basically saying Delly and his defense is over ratted on Curry and I got into it with him for a bit. He is using stats that say "started with Delly" On him. The stats yes differ but this is the MVP so what is this guys problem. He might be my most hated reporter he has been shitting on our team non stop.

@DanFeldmanNBA @NateDuncanNBA if it was actually tracked this way on a large scale, I think we'd be closer to on to something.

This was my response in quotes below

@SethPartnow @NateDuncanNBA @DanFeldmanNBA Yeah we have no Irving or Love or Andy and this is your point with D on a very good player?"

Never heard of the guy before, but it sounds like I crap bigger than him.

Except that Green flopped. So obvious.

As completely weird as it sounds for an undrafted backup PG, I wonder if Delly is starting to get significant respect from the refs. When was the last time a foul was called on him that he didn't deserve, or at least one that didn't look legit?

Think about it. He's guarding the MVP like a glove, but he's never been in foul trouble. They're letting him play that defense, and sure, he's clean, but wouldn't you think the superstar would be getting a few phantom calls? It'd be easy to call as close as Delly guards him. But no.

I think the refs may be, in some sense, as charmed by Delly as everyone else. How can you love the game enough to become an NBA ref, and not love the way he plays? Plus, he seems to be very polite, doesn't whine when he gets blasted....

I think they like the guy.

That said, he did grow up boxing kangaroos and wrestling crocodiles.

Can we not bring up Fedora's name right now? His irritating, pompus personality makes me want to banish him to the Quad universe .
Delly doesn't need to go to the hospital..he needs this..dude balled..after he gets all those fluids, that belly will need some bulk food...

Maybe, but it's hard to call a foul on a guy when he's got great position and his arms are extended. There's no foul that can be called.

Delly's intelligence and anticipation are his best weapons on defense. He isn't the most athletic guy, but he is a very smart defender and gives full effort.

I find it incredible that all the talking heads that called Delly reckless and dangerous are jumping on the bandwagon like their lives are at stake.
I find it hilarious. Delly dove at the ball numerous times last time. Pretty much the same exact play with Korver, and nobody has discussed the Delly is dirty narrative.

First post! I'm an American living in Australia and I can tell you why Delly plays like his life depends on it day in day out. It's the culture that these Australians have. He aptly put it that Aussies don't like being put on pedestals, and you can see that from the sports they follow.

He played "Australian Rules Football". It's a sport where a massive 18 players per team are on a huge ~700 foot long stadium and no player can individually carry. Big team sport. Because of this, you often get players who post little to no numbers but provide a very important piece of the team puzzle that help them win. I believe Delly gets his game plan from his background in Aussie Rules - he's willing to play ugly, get no recognition as long as it helps the team win.

P.S. I've fallen in love with the sport here, it's the toughest thing I've ever seen. This is where Delly gets his hustle and grit from. Check out some of these insane hits this sport has. The players aren't beefcakes who can take hits - they're built for endurance, yet they dish out huge hits with no padding. Massive respect.

Yeah just on one team this year there has been a split kidney for one player and a ruptured testicle for another........

But he's also giving a lot of little pushes, etc. off ball in particular, and the refs aren't giving Curry the phantom superstar calls guys like him often get.
