MLB - Trade Rumors and Speculation

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would love to use him as a trade piece.

I would think other teams still hold a decent value to him.

I have no problem seeing Marson become the everyday catcher until Chen or whatever his name is, is ready for his shot.

If Santana could be the "Piece" in a deal for a Greinke, Upton or Stanton....I am all in.

Could even try doing a Colon type deal where he nets us a haul of prospects.

First of all, three Carlos Santana's wouldn't get you Mike Stanton.

Secondly, Chun Chen isn't a catcher.

Lastly, all three of the players you mentioned are on teams which have a catcher signed beyond the next two years. Milwaukee and Arizona have a catcher locked up for the next 4-5.

Thanks for the insight.

with the attitude, I may start holding Pyro in a better light then you though.

By the way, the competitive lottery picks happened today. These picks can apparently be traded. So thatwould be another trade chip we could use.

Even Pyro knows Chen isn't a catcher.

Nevertheless, Santana sucks so bad that they should trade him for the best young right-handed power hitter since Hank Aaron.

Indians supposedly looking at a sandwich 1st rounder or early second rounder in that lottery.

Edit: They receive a sandwich 2nd round pick in the 70-75 range for next year.

As a piece...Was simply wondering if their was potential.
Not straight up.

I am not that brain dead.

Just wondering if he still has a relatively high value as a 'chip'

I think you meant "there."

But yea, as long as the dude keeps hitting he'll have some value. I think we'd all wish he'd add some power though, him or anyone else in the farm system for that matter.

Chun-Hsui Chen, C: He has impressive offensive skills, but he’s well below average behind the plate.

This is what Baseball Prospectus has him listed at.

until they change it...I am sticking with it.

This is the last time I'm gonna say this. Stop with the personal attacks.

We all know the standards this board has, and that includes the Indians (and Browns) forums as well.

Debate, discuss, and disagree without the personal attacks or be sent on a short vacation.

Baseball Prospectus is wrong, he moved away from C full time this year.

I can't blame them though, their rankings probably came out well before they made this move during the winter.

Wandy Rodriquez...I guess he will cost little to nothing if the contract is picked up.
picking up the contract goes against what the Indians usually do.

Could this be how they use some of the coin coming off the books with Hafner next year?

Yes, Indians FO have said they can take on money in any deal.

Wait you're going to think he's still a catcher because of that, even though he's a first baseman now? Wut. Look at the box scores from this year. Hell check Tony Lastoria's website you'll see he is NOT a catcher anymore. Only sparingly will he play at catcher now a days.

It really isn't a big deal, I was just showing that a site I was looking at, had him listed there. I haven't followed him at all, I just knew we had a minors guy named Chen that at some point was a C. I clearly missed the memo on his change.

I really don't follow the minors at all to be honest. This is now clear as day.

The Angels are making Kendrys Morales available.

They are stuck with Vernon Wells who will command some playing time, so they're pretty much forced into getting rid of Kendrys who has been less than stellar this season.

I personally don't want him, as I think he's Kotchman with a bit more power and less defense. But something to consider.
