MLB - Trade Rumors and Speculation

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A legit prospect by doing what? Hitting .307 in AA and then .236 in AAA? Just sounds like a minor league filler to me..........

He had a back injury that season.

He posted two consecutive seasons above .800 OPS (which is clearly better than anyone we have, per your Willingham argument) in the minor leagues. Also, he was the 69th overall prospect in baseball according to Baseball Reference prior to the 2009 season.

2007 (22) - .869 over two levels
2008 (23) - .889 at Double-A

Not sure who we would be scouting, Josh Johnson could be a nice addition?

I wasn't protecting Ichiro. I was saying you always find a problem in every player/trade.
Is there any player in the League you don't find a problem with?

So you're cool with the injuries?

He can pitch very well when he is healthy. Just because of that history doesn't mean he has no value as a pitcher.

I know everyone is talking about Willingham (who I did want in the offseason) but what about Jason Kubel? I feel like there were options we could of chased filling our need for LF, but of course we didnt.

Also Hafner sucks.

So I take it you were an advocate of us keeping Grady Sizemore then? (I honestly don't know if you were or not)

Cause it'd be a lil hypocritical if you were for Johnson and against Grady..

The thing with Grady is he hasn't played well when he comes back. But Johnson has pitched like an ace as of late.

I also don't understand why I am being ripped for wanted to improve our pitching. If we can get Johnson and he stays healthy. He can be an ace.

He's healthy right now and not pitching very well, so there's that to consider as well.

He threw 6 innings of 1 hit ball last night against the Braves, I know he gave up a lot of runs previously. But hes an improvement to Lowe/Tomlin.

Yes, he is an improvement.

But he's not an ace...he's not pitching like an ace, and he comes with a high risk of arm injury.

Yet, the Marlins will want to value him as an ace.

So thus, no thank you.

I'm not ripping you at all, I agree our pitching needs improved big time. I was just making a statement.

Gotcha. I was just making a speculation as to why the Indians were scouting the Marlins.

I'd think if they're scouting them, it could be about Choate.

If they want to pick of some of Hanley Ramirez's deal, I'd imagine the Indians would be interested in that as well. Logan Morrison's underperforming douche-ass is probably available too.
