Gotta love Mr. Bucknuts:
After setting international records in the fields of arrogance and television contract negotiations, the Domers have come up with yet a new PR trick, elevating the lowly and portly Charlie Weis to sainthood in but nine games, of which he is 7-2. Hey – Willingham went 8-0 in his first season and was shown the door shortly thereafter. But does the “Weis Man” title fit or not? I say, “Not yet”.

It feels like Charlie Weis has turned a moribund program on a dime and is headed toward football Valhalla. Maybe. Maybe not. His biggest win this season was a close loss to Southern Cal. That’s what the poll voters seem to remember. His other big win? Against Michigan, during the course of the Wolverines splitting their first six games. Oh. And, yeah, Notre Dame also lost at home to Michigan State, a team that five other Big Ten teams have taken turns whipping. The other big games? Well, the Irish were able to topple Pitt (in one of the worst Pitt season in memory). They took care of Washington (1-9), beat last place Purdue, wumped a bad-to-mediocre BYU squad and then rallied in the fourth quarter to overcome Tennessee (who is 4-5 this season and going so bad that they are firing coaches on the go…). Not that impressive, you say? You would be right.

But how about a big ending for the Irish? Yeah, right. They end with the traditional tough scheduling of Navy (41 straight wins over the Midshipmen), Syracuse (1-8) and Stanford (5-5 in a weak Pac Ten).

So save the toasts and premature rising-from-the-dead speech. At least for now.

I would love to face these little green guys in the Fiesta Bowl, wouldn’t you? First, the Buckeyes have to take care of some business next week…

Man, if the Bucks faced the Irish I wouldn't know for who to cheer for.

i have been preaching the same thing for a couple of weeks now. the media needs to stop hanging off of nd nutts. they have not done anything.

No kidding everyone INCLUDING MAC...blah blah no cupcakes...bullshit every single game outside of USC Michigan is a freaking cakewalk. The Buckeyes played so many ranked teams...

Texas, Iowa(ranked before we beat them) Minnesota(ranked before we beat them) Michigan State(ranked before we beat them) Northwestern(ranked before we beat them) Purdue(ranked before we beat them) Illinois was an cupcake, and Miami was a cupcake....so yeah...who had the tougher sched? Not to mention we face Michigan who has had a tough year but was ranked 4th to start the season.

Man...When you put it like that, it does seem like OSU REALLY deserves to go to the Fiesta Bowl for the 203984549th time in a row.

ahaha, we screwed a lot of teams over by beating them. lol

Weis is a really higher character guy:
A Massachusetts contractor claims new Notre Dame football coach Charlie Weis is poised to leave not only the New England Patriots this month but also his creditors owed more than $200,000.

Builder Steven Benoit sued the coach and his wife, Maura Weis, last week in federal court in Boston claiming the couple committed ``unfair and deceptive acts'' before flat out refusing to pay him the rest of his money for building their Cumberland, R.I., home.

This happened a while ago, but some how I missed it. I wonder what was the outcome?

Good Charlie, stubborn Charlie, a fact of life

Al Hamnik

It's Charlie's way, or the closest you'll get to Irish football is the car radio. Behind the scenes, away from cameras and tape recorders, we're told he's got the people skills of a prison guard. And a temper to match.

What's so frustrating is that Weis can be genuinely charming one moment, a tyrant the next. He had that split personality as an NFL coordinator with the Jets and Patriots, and continues to irritate other coaches at Notre Dame with his moody nature and short fuse.

A large number of alumni reportedly are upset by his behavior. As long as the Irish win, they'll bite their lip. But if the program struggles, his critics will multiply like roaches.

Notre Dame's Football Media Day was Sunday morning, not Saturday, if you can believe that. The media turnout could've been better. We have a Catholic university, on a church day, a traditional family day, basically forcing some to work.

It didn't take Charlie long to flex some muscle. Former Times Sports Writer Jeff Carroll, now working for the Irish Sports Report, was informed by school officials that he could not ask questions of Weis, his staff or players during the three-hour session. It seems Weis and senior associate athletics director John Heisler weren't happy with some of Carroll's reporting endeavors.

Here's an idea: Have someone ask the questions for you.
This guy is so charming.

yes, and that split personality helped us win 3 championships, i hate ND as much as the next person, but Weis is the man, and what he says goes.

He needs to get his fat ass on a diet. For a great establishment in Notre Dame, having a obese coach as the face of there football program is a joke.

ughhh.... have you seen Romeo Crennel???

Who hasnt. But this thread isnt concerning the Browns.

You've gotta love Mr. Bucknuts and his endless railing on Fat Charlie:

You just can't give Weis 32 weeks to prepare… As the self-anointed genius that he is, Charlie “Chuckie the Tuna” Weis has a huge advantage when given the entire off-season to prepare for Notre Dame’s opener. Just look what he was able to do when given a full month to prepare for Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl! What’s that? The most yards ever given up by Notre Dame in history? But this is different this year. Weis, because he is Weis, took the slow defense and made it faster. Don’t ask how. I mean he's got 4 Super Bowl rings. He's the highest paid coach in college FB and you just had to feel sorry for that lowly Georgia Tech squad. What’s that? 14-10? No way! Well, Charlie is SO smart that maybe he was just disguising the real highy ranked Notre Dame team that he plans to unveil. Ya gotta love the big lug, particularly if you make your living as a caricaturist…

I don’t know why GT even bothered to suit up.

On the Rome show somebody sent him an email...

Charlie Wiess will win, hes got all offseason to prepare.

Signed Fiesta Bowl.

Da Da Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :thisguy: wiess

Ignorance.

Notre Dame schedules a quality opponent in Georgia Tech, which is a very good football program and GOES to their stadium to play.

OSU takes the cupcakes, NIU, bashes them in.

WHen you face a very good team to open the season at their place, are you going to steam roll them? Whoknows.

When you play a cake team at home just to get one in, does it really get you any better?

How good is OSU? They schedule cakes every year and barely beat them and usually ending up losing to one, i.e. Northwestern.

At the end of the day, Notre Dame wins and is better prepared for their next game. At the same time OSU accomplished nothing and will probably get their faces bashed in.

They couldnt even stop Wolfe, who is a good RB, but that offense is middle of the road mid major and he had a field day. Texas offense will put a hurting on the Bucks.
