More reasons (#2317 to #2319) to hate Notre Dame

Ignorance.

Notre Dame schedules a quality opponent in Georgia Tech, which is a very good football program and GOES to their stadium to play.

OSU takes the cupcakes, NIU, bashes them in.

WHen you face a very good team to open the season at their place, are you going to steam roll them? Whoknows.

When you play a cake team at home just to get one in, does it really get you any better?

How good is OSU? They schedule cakes every year and barely beat them and usually ending up losing to one, i.e. Northwestern.

At the end of the day, Notre Dame wins and is better prepared for their next game. At the same time OSU accomplished nothing and will probably get their faces bashed in.

They couldnt even stop Wolfe, who is a good RB, but that offense is middle of the road mid major and he had a field day. Texas offense will put a hurting on the Bucks.

Tell me again how an unranked team is good. Ignorance, yes you define that definition to a T.

Wolfe had 4 long yard plays, when Tressel was subbing guys in constantly.

You had trouble scoring against gt, an unranked team. If you are going to come here and act like you feel comfortable about how dame played against an unranked team than go ahead. Whatever makes you feel good.

Better prepared for the next game, that was weak. You are starting to dig real deep for reason to gloat about dame.

Fiesta Bowl betch. :chuckles:

After the score reached 28 – 0, the defense played a soft cover 3 and did not bring any blitzes. This is the main reason why Wolfe did so well late in the game. JT was running vanilla, b/c he could, and b/c he didn't have to show Texas any of his hand, and still laid a whoopin on NIU.

Do tough opponants prepare you for the road ahead? Sure, that's what Texas is for next week. Do soft opponants prepare you for the road ahead? Sure, they provide an opportunity to get precious PT for your up and comers. Against teams like Texas and PSU, if a starter goes down, it will be nice when we bring in the back up and it's not the guys first ever play on the big stage. Among other things, it minimizes the "Oh crap!" factor.

I really like OSU's schedule. One tough out of conference, a couple mid majors, and then the tough Big Ten schedule. By the end of the season, JT always has his teams playing as good as anyone, so I think it's working just fine.

So you are saying they are only 25 good teams in the nation? Since a team is ranked, that means they are good and the teams that arent ranked arent good and since they arent good they will never be good, despite the fact that teams drop in and out of the rankings all year.

Dumbass...that is a stupid ass statement.

NIU-Mid American Conference=garbage.

Georgia Tech-ACC=a pretty damn good team. They may not be ranked, but lets not get dumb here and assume because they are not ranked they are not good, that is just flat out stupid.

Am I comfortable with how they played? No. Its the first game of the year, I dont expec them to come out and be full go and a well oiled machine. Thats unrealistic.

Dont dodge questions, i asked how you guys felt when you were barely beating MAC teams the last couple of years. How does that differ from this? A win is a win and at the end of the day it doesnt matter how you win.

Without a guy named Nugent, OSU would have a handfull of loses to shitty MAC teams so dont talk like OSU has never had a close game.

Atleast Note Dame has the balls to go on the road to open their season against a quality opponent rather than taking the girl route out and being like OSU and schedule a cake just for a W.

Its just like next year when OSU plays Kent, Akron and Youngstown St. YOUNGSTOWN ST! :chuckles: :chuckles: :chuckles: They are taking cupcaking to a whole nother level with that game. If it werent for OSU being REQUIRED to play the Big Ten schedule, they would schedule CUSA and MAC teams, and even stoop to scheduling DIAA teams for the entire year and hope to beat Michigan to go undefeated.

Notre Dame will be better prepared because now they know what kinks they have to work out. Playing a quality team will show those holes in your teams game plan. If Notre Dame wanted to be a punk and schedule teams with no history or significance, I guess they could have steam rolled Kent or be like OSU and schedule YSU to send a false representation of a team.

OSU however, has no idea what their holes are because they decided to take it easy and now Texas should be able to exploit that because they didnt prepare good enough.

You can scream Feista Bowl all you want, Notre Dame wasnt even expected to be in a BCS bowl and OSU was expected to be national title contenders. It was good experience for Dame to get into that game, win or lose. Notre Dame had nothing to lose, they should have never been there.

Yes, seeing as how we have scheduled home&aways in the future with USC, Miami (FL), and Oklahoma. Three college powerhouses.

And Texas knows where their holes are because they played North Texas?

USC had a hard time against arkansas didnt they. Can you put two and two together there mr. heater fixer. :chuckles:

Didnt you say that there was no possible way OSU could beat dame. There was no way at all, not on God's green earth that they could beat them. "How, dame is soooo balanced and Troy Smith is a running back" Pssss, please.

QUOTE===I dont see how Ohio State can win tihs game to be honest.

They have played one diminsional teams all year and the only two D team they played, Texas, they got beat.

Notre Dame can kill you in so many ways, I dont see how they can focus on one part and just completely shut it down, which m akes their D so successfull.

Walker is a very good RB, but you cant focus on him because Quinn is probably one of two best QBs in the nation. You can't focus on their WRs, three very good ones because both TEs are NFL caliber.

OSU can't cover every option that ND brings to the table and Weiss can game plan with the best of them, which I think will be the difference.

Plus OSU is inept on offense IMO. I have zero respect for Troy Smith as a QB, he is a RB playing as a passer. Ginn is highly over rated but Holmes is good and so is the TE, although he is inconsistant. Pittman is my boy, but he isnt a game changing RB and is more of a compliment to the offense more so than a ideal part of it. But Smith is still hard to beat because of his feet...you can count on him throwing bad passes, he isnt a very good passer, but with the right zone D with some spy LBs might be able to eliminate the big runs he can have.

what a tough schedule, dumbass.

3 ranked teams, two of which are in the big ten. air force, army and navy, WHAT A JOKE. YOU SAY NIU IS BAD, AIR FORCE AND ARMY EVEN UNC. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! STANFORD PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im not saying the Bucks dont have easy games but you act like dame doesnt. Well your schedule is there and the proof is in the pudding.

Im not a Texas or USC fan, I could care less what they do.

I was wrong with my pre-game pick. You act like you have never been wrong, which would be just like in any George Bush thread we have had. So I was supposed to pick OSU? Yeah...

Notre Dames schedule, outside of UNC I dont know where or why they have that game, is based on history. Army, Navy and Air Force have long time been traditional games. There is nothing to explain. They used to be top tier football teams but there is still history between the two schools.

Stanford is just as good as Northwestern, Indiana and Illinois in the Big Ten, so I dont know what your flapping your gums about.

Youngstown State, thats all I have to say about being a pussy and scheduling cakes.

But I see you still have an easy time ducking questions...thats what I figured from a punk like yourself. Most Bush people are just like you. Avoiding the issue.

Tressell is only doing his old school a favor and hoping to get some of those D2 players some recognition when scouts are watching that game. He's giving back to the school that got him to where he is now (the best school in the land - and you can suck on it if you think otherwise :D)

Mac, this goes beyond just being wrong in your pre-game pick. You didn't just say "I think ND will win." You said "I dont see how Ohio State can win this game", ie. you can't even fathom how OSU could have any chance at all. Now, you're not saying "I was wrong, I picked ND, OSU won." You're saying "they (ND) should have never been there."

You're dipping into Law territory here with how badly you're changing your stance. It's sad to see your dip so low.

ouch... :chuckles:

How? Im wrong, what do you want me to say?

Its not like Im arguing I was right, I wasnt.

I seriously thought that the Notre Dame offense would be able to exploit the OSU defense because they had so many weapons. They didnt do a bad job, it's just that OSU's offense played greater than they ever have on that night. Ginn actually looked like a WR and Smith looked damned good. They were too much for the defense of Notre Dame. Thats why they play the game and it's not on paper or logic. A couple of unfortunent offensive drops and a miss tackle here and there did Notre Dame in. I said after the game that OSU was the better team.....how many times do you jackasses want me to say I was wrong? Get your head out of your asses.

I was wrong, I admiited that. How the hell am I looking like Law?

Why do you have to resort to name calling mac. punk. mr. moderator.

What question have I not anwered??? Realy, on you next post ask me the question.

The only thing you rag on OSU is there cupcake schedule, but dame's isnt that difficult in the first place.

This guy thinks I dont anwer questions because I backed Bush. Psssss, please. I have answered every question youve thrown at me, not come to Cali and put a big bore kit on my air conditionaire.

Go read and you will see it.

I was called to be like Law, so I responded. Being called like law is a lot more disrespectful than anything i said.

The Big 10 is the toughest conference to play in..you can't argue that.

Teams Ranked at Some Point
Osu
Mich
Minn
Iowa
Penn
Wisconsin

Not counting some teams jump in there being Northwestern and hell even Purdue laid 63 points on a team.

Point is we played the Nat'l champs last year, the 2nd ranked team this year. And other college powerhouses like Cali said..

We're going to be playing USC, Miami (Florida), Oklahoma, Va Tech all twice in the coming years..

Argue strength of schedule all you like, you underestimated Smith, you underestimated Ginn and when Pittman busted that shit loose you underestimated him as well..

I think we had more defensive players go in Rounds 1-3 last year then you had total players in the entire draft. Your blatant dislike for OSU is your downfall brosef.

We know you don't like them but for your sake just respect them, because the more you try to run their players and program into the ground the more foolish you look.

Lol. Yeah, that was kinda wrong. There isn't much worse you could say to someone.

And cdt's right about the cupcake song and dance. OSU is no different than many other top football programs in their scheduling like Texas, USC, etc. Continuing to go back to strength of schedule like some how OSU is tarnishing the program by playing the occassional MAC team makes it look like you're really reaching.
