NBA 2K13

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Im starting to play this again now that I got a new internet connection, what are some "below average" teams you guys like to play with? I just beat the Lakers by double digits as the Hornets, Greivis Vasquez is the man, Eric Gordon's shot is tough to time right, and 2k seriously underrated the shooting ability of Anthony Davis

Trying to get a win with the Magic. Frustrating, yet fun. My connenction sucked and I should have won three straight games with them, but they all dropped and none of them counted. And the fourth game I lost and it of course didn't drop. So I technically haven't won, but thats bull. With a good connection like I have right now at home, I guarantee I will be beatin people with the Magic (and Vucevic needs a better rating, they have him as like the 8th best player on the team when he is clearly number 1).

I haven't tried the Cavs without Kyrie but I'm not sure if thats one I want to try out.

I tend to use the Nuggets, although they may not be a below average team. No superstars, though.

Also the Hawks aren't bad if you like to use big men, considering Al Horford and Josh Smith can dominate if you use them correctly.

In the update today, they made Dion injured. So you'd be playing without Kyrie and Dion :chuckles:

Nuggets are my favorite team on there. I've been using them since like 2k10 though. I love usin the Nuggets. I used to use the Blazers all the time too, but I haven't much on 2k13. There bench is TERRIBLE. I literally have to play the starters the whole game if I use them.

The Blazers are a good team as well. I love using big men who can post up and shoot the 15 footer.

Also, for shits and giggles.. Played with my buddy Cavs vs. Miami without Irving and Waiters. Was actually close, I used Gibson and he used Wayne Ellington. We only lost by 5.

I just used the Bobcats. The guy I was playing record was 177-44. I was down double digits going into the 4th, came back, down 1 with the ball. Ben Gordon hits the game winning three at the buzzer! I'm so clutch on 2k. I think I'm like 18 for 20 on game winning shots.

I hate the kids that quit when it's right down the line.

The coolest thing happened to me a few weeks ago when I was playing. I was using the Cavs (w/ a healthy Kyrie and Dion) and the other guy was using the Spurs. I was down by a good dozen heading into the fourth, and I took over with Kyrie. I took a one point lead with about five seconds left, and the dude pulls up for three right at the buzzer with Manu and drained it. I was pissed, but then the game went to this like animation where they reviewed it and they waved it off so I won. Never have seen that happen before in a 2K game, but as soon as the other dude saw the ref waving it off, he rage-quit. One of my favorite online wins for sure.

Yeah I've won and lost games on a review before too. It's intense as fuck waiting for the decision, haha.

Dang, I've never seen the review for the win. I've had some close calls but clicking buttons probably skips the animation. I don't know. Some of those can be heartbreakers though.

Yeah you can skip it by hitting A but you still have to wait a little bit. Needless to say, I hammer the A button :chuckles:

The venerable Chris Quinn was added in the past update as well. He brings a glorious 56 overall to the club along with an amazing profile picture.

He is good at shooting threes online though - so if you need one (since Kyrie/Dion are out), he's not a horrible option for that.

Well, I probably won't be playing this again for a while because the CPU AI on defense is just absolutely awful, making it impossible to play defense. No matter what settings you change, your computer teammates will not close out on shooters and will stand 5 feet off of guys like Steve Novak. I set my defense on Novak to play tight on-ball, deny ball off-ball, help defense on 0, defensive pressure on 100, and the stupid computer just leaves him wide open in the corner.

I just played a game as the Hornets because of this post and beat the Clippers against a guy with a solid 2k record. Never thought to use them.

When Drummond was healthy, the Pistons were a fun team. I use the Kings here and there. The Jazz are underrated if you like to go into the post. The Bucks are fun. John Wall is a beat on 2k.. unless he shoots outside of 3 feet.
