Trevor Ariza and Josh Smith are scarier than the Splash Brothers...

:chuckle:

Why did I even bother reading through this stuff?

Without Love, this is only team that I think we don't have a realistic shot at winning (unless somehow Lebron can do LeBeast Detroit Game 5 mode for 4 games)

Did you watch Tristan Thompson against Chicago? I miss Love more or less for depth reasons but I don't see how he'd be essential in beating GS? As long as LeBron doesn't continue to play some of his worst statistical playoff basketball in his career and Kyrie can get over some knee inflammation and foot soreness I'd really like our chances.

Force Golden state into the half court game. Limit Turnovers. It what Memphis did to some degree of success. Cavs would be much more efficient on other end than Memphis.
LA and Houston would try to run with GS to no avail.

Golden State got away from their defense at the beginning of the Memphis series then got back to it.

Warriors were fortunate against Memphis they wwere shooting over 40% from three except for the 2 losses andthe Grizzlies shot mostly under 30%. from the three. this was the major difference between a Memphis win and loss.
Cavs against the bulls Post Love Saw the Cavs shooting 35% from the three. That is with James shooting 3 of 28 from the arc.
Irving, Jones, Jr, and Delly were all hitting in stride at over 40%.

Despite all the Criticism about James Turning over the ball the Cavs only posted a 10% turnover rate.

In the playoffs its not about how strong a team his but how effective a team can be at neutralizing its strengths or exploiting its weakness.
Houston for instance is using their offensive rebounding and ability to draw fouls to get back into their series with LA ( Intentional fouling Jordan for a couple games neutralized their own strength. )

Can Bogut and Lee offset the offensive rebounding of Mozgov and Thompson?
I would think the Cavs would have an edge on offensive boards.

Can Golden States defense hold the cavs to under 35% from three on a game to game basis? (dont think so).
Unlike Memphis the Cavs wont need to hold the Warriors under 30% shooting from the arc to beat them and The Cavs will be able to play at multiple tempos.

Golden state couldnt match their frontcourt to memphis so they went small ball.. how effective is that gonna be against the Cavs who have a much more effective small ball lineup.

I agree with another poster. we should be more focused on Atlanta right now but if the scenario occured The Cavs arent completely outclassed by this team as some are stating but it will make for good basketball.

Apparently all LeBron really needs to do is stop taking 3 pointers and he's just a little less than what he was he was in Miami. Add maybe an extra dominant performance like he did in game 5 vs Bulls to that. His 3 point shooting has been atrocious and brings down his FG% a lot.

I think he's hoping he'll have one of his multi-game 3 point streaks that he has every now and then just as long as he keeps with the repetition. Its a gamble. If that sort of thing happens at the right moment, like in the finals, it would be huge. But conversely if it doesn't then those are just lost opportunities which are also huge. So cut back on that and get his turnovers under control is all he really need do.

SIAP, way more afraid of Houston.

Why? Because they beat a team that simply gagged, with guys like Jason Terry, Corey Brewer, and Josh Smith?

Sorry, that's not scary, that's just a historic choke job by the Clippers.

Houston is really good.

The underrating around here is astounding sometimes. :chuckle: The Cavs could beat them, but it'd be extremely tough, as would Cavs vs GSW. Heavily in favor of the opponent.

Where in my post did I say they're not good? I asked him why are they more scary than the best team in the NBA, in the Warriors. You know, the team that won 67 games, and has the reigning MVP.

Giving up 40 points in the 4th to guys like Jason Terry, Corey Brewer, and Josh Smith isn't scary, it's pathetic.

That was maybe the worst gag job you could ever witness. Sure, the Rockets deserve credit, but that is pathetic for a team like the Clippers.

So tell me Chris, why are the Rockets scarier than the Warriors?

I'm not getting involved in your guys' pissing contest, I just find it funny you're diminishing them because they made an epic comeback with "Jason Terry, Corey Brewer, and Josh Smith" while we just won our series on Matthew Dellavedova going Jordan Mode for a quarter.

Both teams would be favorites vs the Cavs.

Cavs 5-2 odds to win it all, Houston 18-1

Warriors are the favorites if we play them, not the Rockets though.

And besides if you haven't heard, LeBron isn't a underdog, never.

Diminishing it, didn't even say that dude, good gracious, I am asking why that makes them scary? It was impressive, but good Lord, fans should be scared of getting beat by Jason Terry, Corey Brewer, and Josh Smith? :chuckle: Seriously? A team lead by LeBron James should fear that, over the Warriors?

We didn't win the game on just Matthew Dellavedova. Dude, when are people going to realize LeBron dominates the game in multiple of ways, without even needing to score. You being a Cav fan should understand that.

LeBron was on the court, LeBron was still the best player on the court, even despite his bad shooting performance. Because this is what LeBron does. He can still obliterate a team without scoring.

We've seen Boobie go for 30 points, in a deciding playoff game.

This isn't the first time LeBron has taken role players, and make them look godly on the floor. That speaks more to how scary LeBron is. Matthew Dellavedova, who I love, is not having that type of game without LeBron. Sorry, just not happening.

The Rockets came back down 19, without their best player out there. That's impressive, but that's also really pathetic for the Clippers.

I thought his teams were just never desperate. :chuckle:

I have high hopes but low expectations. If Houston gets to the Finals vs the Cavs I'd be shocked if they weren't favored over us.

Gonna need much better shooting from LeBron to win the Finals regardless of how much he affects the game in other ways. The guy isn't invincible, nor are his teams. Believe it or not, he's been beaten in the playoffs before. More than he's won, actually. But that's kind of moving away from what we were talking about.

Looks like Houston is going to beat the Clippers unless things change big time in this game. Clippers look like a dog shit. Will be interesting to see GSW vs Houston if that is the case. If the Cavs make it past Atlanta, I am thankful we'll only have to play one of them.

Both teams are stacked, GS and Hou that is, but can I blame you for low expectations, no. We lost Love and Andy, Kyrie is hobbling as well, it should be low expectations to be honest.

I'd rather play Houston, a 70% Kyrie can play like a 100% vs their point guards.
