NEOMG

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why on earth did Chris Haynes throw Pau Gasol under the bus in his latest article? It's TMZ levels of awful reporting. I expect if from the other 2 NEOMG clowns, but I thought Haynes was the most professional of the bunch...I guess not!

and he's catching heat for it on twitter already

Yeah he did kind of force that in there.

Would be interested if he knows something about Pau's health and desire that we don't.

Stuff like what Haynes is reporting is when you think all injuries are created equal or something. So unprofessional.

Who runs the RCF Twitter? They also made comments pre-game about Pau being soft for not playing.

Really wonder if there's some information we don't have access to.

Which member of the NEOMG will be the first to make any type of positive comment regarding the way this team has been coached and developed this season? Yesterday's blowout should indicate some level of competency from the staff. My bet is the crickets will be chirping when it comes time for accolades from this group of local writers. They'll heap all the praise on Lebron, probably continue adding to the perception that James and not Blatt is the head coach.

**sorry, didn't see it was already posted in Shumpert thread

Someone hasn't made friends in the locker room and it not who we all thought.....

There's a certain unwritten rule that comments like that are made when the "cameras" stop rolling are off the record. Any reporter worth his salt wouldn't have used it.

Some reporters cross the line and get checked hard by the players. Shump checked his ass into the 5th row.

Hmmmm...

Maybe Dion wasn't lying about that whole Muslim/praying debacle at Denver all along...

Dion was really defenseless in regards to the press this season. That was mostly his own fault though.
This made him an easy target. Haynes has done nothing this season to gain any credence and his reporting consistently merits questioning regardless of whom the subject is

and another note . questioning Gasol as Soft isnt anything new. However blatantly accusing him of choosing not to play because he didnt want to as opposed to he didnt feel comfortable is another thing entirely

Here's how you know things are rolling and all vibes are good at the moment in Cavs land for us as fans. Morbid curiosity and late night boredom led me to go read Fedor's and Vardon's articles tonight and............I didn't hate them.

They both still have miles to go before I would consider either credible writers or credible basketball writers.

Vardon especially sees the writing on the wall. Rick Noland has been hyper-critical about Blatt/Cavs this year and he even tweeted this morning that Blatt did a great job in Game 2.

They've had 2 guys in their own beat pool (Chris Parker and Sam The Bullshit Whisperer) call them out in the last week regarding their petulance w/ Blatt and despite what they might say in public regarding that, you have to know it stings a bit. The more mature guys might do a bit of self-reflection and stop w/ the childishness; others might simply dig-in some more and ground their heels. I think you're seeing both right now.

Like any human being you shouldn't withhold the possibility of changing your mind about them. Take the Cavs. Would you have ever believed watching that team play last year that this year you'd be watching the best defensive team in the playoffs in D Efficiency (which is obviously pace-adjusted)?

It takes time to learn any job. So long as somebody wants to get better you shouldn't withold the possibility they might. As recently as April I think I was suggesting Bynum's in-between game would make him better than Delly. I liked how Bynum performed for Washington - a playoff team -- but I was very very wrong on Delly's ability to play quick guards. I see that backpedaling shit he was doing - but he's so smart that as someone said, even if he's out of position he'll hustle, he'll think and he'll recover - and he doesn't have any fear about trusting a guy and rotating. he goes, he is a glue guy but more than that he's proven a credible threat when necessary out of PnR. That I so so did not see that coming.

I believe seeing national guys asking questions and knowing that their reporting can get beaten down by no less than the immortal Woj, can inspire those with enough ambition to become better. And also remember -- they have to sort of split the stories between them. Maybe they've been struggling like brothers to hear and know their own voice while also feeling the pressure to chase the stories the big boys follow. The people who long for the days of Mike Brown....
