New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Has anybody read the dark tower? I would think that HBO would of been doing their damnedest to get it. It sounds like it slipped through their fingers though and now Sony is going to give it a shot.

It seems like it would do better as a TV series.

I just can't imagine it ever working as a series of movies. It's just too dense, like Game of Thrones. It would have been great as a show, though.

Saw it mentioned elsewhere in here, but highly recommend Daredevil, even if you aren't a fan of that genre. As far as superhero shows/movies go, it's the grittiest and darkest that I have seen. Already cannot wait for the second season, which is supposed to start production in the second half of this year (if it hasn't already).

Also, for whoever was asking about the Americans, I definitely recommend that one, as well.

Humans was pretty solid. Interested to see where it goes.

Haven't seen Penny Dreadful. I'm kind of interested in it though.

Also interested in American Gods coming to Starz as a long term in the future thing.

Two new shows that I am LOVING after their first episodes:

Humans on AMC. So much better than I expected. Really intrugiuing, interesting tone, and you just have a creepy feeling the whole time without really knowing why.

Mr. Robot on USA. Fantastic!! Never thought a USA show could be this good (I mean their brand has always been fun, but in a popcorn, non-serious way). But this is a legit thriller drama. I got pretty gripped about 3 minutes into it and it never really lets go. Really recommend trying it.

I saw previews for both shows and I thought both looked interesting. I can't ever remember a period where so many good shows were on television, and video games for that matter. It's like there is no reason to ever leave the house.

I'm also going to check out the brink tonight.

Does anybody watch twelve monkeys? I feel like I watch all the bastard shows.

I liked the movie with Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt so I gave it a shot. Actually kind of liked it.

Me too, i actually own an hd-dvd copy. I never thought in a million years that they would make a show based off this movie, which I think is based off of a French short. Syfy has some pretty solid stuff. I'm interested in this other show they have coming out that has mike from breaking bad.

Looks like @Jack Brickman has a lot in his plate.

And I'm still catching up on all the shit my DVR recorded while I was in Europe. :(

I am wayyyyyyyyyy late to the party but just started The Wire on Amazon Prime. I think every season is on there for "free". On episode 3. Usually get in 1-2 episodes/day.

Would thoroughly recommend Jonathan strange and mr norrell if you can get it. Excellent bbc drama about magicians

Going through season two of Arrow right now. It's definitely a major step up from season one. Probably because the villain is much more interesting. Still not quite as good as Daredevil, but definitely closer to that quality.

A shame that I've heard the third season kind of sucks.

Any show that has to make 23 episodes a season is going to suffer.

Season 3 had good moments. But to make 23 quality episodes is just unrealistic.

Overall Season 2 was the best imo.

Yeah, I agree. You're inevitably going to have to produce a ton of filler when you have that many episodes, especially given the production schedules of most shows. Ten to Thirteen or less seems to be the zone for a good mix of quality and quantity.
