New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Again, this is the problem with the CW forcing 20+ episodes on this show every season. It stifles creativity and means there are going to be too many filler episodes. Daredevil mostly avoided that fate because it only had 13 episodes, and thus had to remain more focused on telling the story of Daredevil and the Kingpin. There just wasn't a lot of time for filler.

I agree with you guys, though, that Ra's is a Batman villain, and doesn't really belong as a main villain on Arrow.

They really need to make a fucking Batman TV show. Just divorce it from the films and make it its own thing, like the comic books instead of the more realistic movies. And put it on a real cable network like FX or HBO so they can make it as adult as it needs to be. Don't put it on the CW and cast a bunch of Abercrombie models.

I can only hope that it will be something that is explored in detail come season 4. They can't possibly have a plot detail like that and not go further into it.

Ra's was just such a flat character in this show. The other main villains that Oliver dealt with (Merlyn and Deathstroke) had actual personalities to them, that really brought the characters to life. Ra's was just... Ra's. He just felt like a generic villain that slipped through the cracks and ended up being the main villain for the third season, and everyone just kinda went with it because they didn't have any better options at the time.

Also, I wonder how much further they are going to pursue a storyline with Palmer, since Atom is supposed to be getting a spinoff show, as well.

Palmer is my other bug-bear. I try to have no gripe with DC pushing their agenda, but I signed on to watch 'Arrow,' a superhero television show about a rich playboy who comes back from the dead to right his father's wrongs. If you gave that synopsis to someone watching season 3, they'd look at you funny. I don't care all that much for added superhero's and while I understand that this is how it is in the comic world, I personally lose a sense of realism in the setting of the show because of this.

Guessing Palmer will appear sporadically in season 4, much like the Flash has. Do we know much about next season's villain? All I know, and this is per Paul Blackthorne again, is that Officer Lance gets himself a love interest. But other than that, seems to be under wraps.

Arrow was really disappointing for me. Leaving Season-2 aside, I found it quite underwhelming overall!

The only reason I watch it is because of Stephen Amell, who is brilliant. Otherwise all other characters, I either find irritating or am indifferent towards. Laurel and Speed especially. God, irritating voices. Also, they really need to stop with the whole flashbacks bullshit. They have completely overdone it. I have much more hope from The Flash though. The writing and acting in Flash is miles better.

As for Mr. Robot, I really have no fucking idea wtf is going on, but I find it really intriguing and gripping. Liked the second episode.

Haven't heard anything about the season 4 interest, but I have literally zero interest in yet another love story subplot.

It helps that Flash is also supposed to be more light-hearted in nature, so they can do more with it in that regard. Arrow was great for what it was in the first two seasons, but then it sadly went the way of The Walking Dead in its third season, with too much filler and not enough actual substance. Hopefully they can rebound next season.

Is Hulu worth it now that Seinfeld is on? Is it on yet?

Anyone else here watch Bojack? S2 is available July 17th this month.

No one here watches Suits?

i like it i've watched up through season 4. it's a good series. haven't watched the first 2 episodes of season 5 though. thought about started humans thought is it any good?

I think @Jack Brickman said you loved The Wire, could you answer this for me? (I know such an old show but in case anyone is gonna watch it)

When Omar just waltzes in the pit with his shotgun, after he killed a man from Avon's crew, how doesn't any person have a gun to kill him? They all run & hide. Avon put a bounty on his head, you don't think he would have his men armed? Do they explain it later, just a mis-hap in the show? Just happens? Or do they not want them armed b/c of how frequently the cops show up?

I mean, I doubt every guy there has a gun on them at all times, especially when they're just out walking around. Having an unregistered gun is a serious crime, and as you said the cops are constantly there patting people down. It would be unrealistic to expect the guys on the street dealing to have guns on them due to that risk of long term incarceration. Just think of all the lengths they go to to keep the drugs out of the dealers' hands, or to keep Avon and Stringer so far removed from touching any actual drugs.

I also think it's an intimidation thing. Omar is like an urban legend to these guys. How many of them want to risk crossing him, especially out in the open when he's fully content to just leave them alone?

Edit: I think you could also chock it up to some suspension of disbelief. The show would be no fun if Omar just died in the first season. He's one of the best characters!

I'm really enjoying the 2nd half of S2 of Agents of SHIELD, I'm like the Inhumans story line developing.

Plus, Chloe Bennett is also really freakin' hot.

Agents is great tv. Looking forward to how they tie it in to the civil war arch in cap3

Started watching 12 Monkeys finally. Really digging it so far. The first episode is solid, but I'm midway through the second episode and it's pretty great. Makes me want to watch the movie again, although I appreciate that the show is basically taking the movie's premise and doing its own thing from there.

Shit, just finished Season 4 of The Shield. Absolutely fantastic season, loved the new characters of Monica Rawling and Antwon Mitchell. Also loved how this season broadened the main issue of aggressive policing vs human rights (and does the end justify the means) beyond the Strike Team and into departmental procedures as a whole. All in all, might be my favorite season of The Shield yet; definitely between that and Season 2.
