New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As for Mr. Robot, I really have no fucking idea wtf is going on, but I find it really intriguing and gripping. Liked the second episode.
I think there was a movie pilot. I havent found it yet.

My wife and I have enjoyed watching "Alone" on the History channel. I'm usually not a fan of those survival shows, but this piqued my interest. I would recommend it

If you would give me your HBO password maybe I can watch it ;)

Kidding. But I seriously need to get HBO Go bad. Not just because I haven't seen Game of Thrones or True Detective before. But I want to see Silicon Valley, and they put season 1 of Veep on Amazon Prime and I watched it in like a day and I really like it.

I want to see the rest of Boardwalk Empire because they only have like 2 season on Prime, but season 2 ended rather disturbingly. And I really want to see Curb your Enthusiasm.

I've ran out of stuff to watch on Amazon and Netflix.

Come on, WW, this is the internet age. Pirating/watching any show free is pretty easy now of days. :chuckle:

How was it? For some reason I have high expectations for Season 2. I am assuming it got a bigger budget this year.

Felt absolutely no different from last year. I go into it with high hopes, Setrakian and Fet are fine, and then you get Eph...... Only worse thing on the show is the kid who plays his son. Even worse than the annoying old lady last year.

But Battlebots was cool.

Saw a 30 for 30 called "of Miracles and Men", which was about the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" story from the Soviet perspective. Kind of about all of Soviet Hockey in the 70's-early 90's, actually. Absolutely fantastic.

I fell asleep watching so not sure. :chuckle:

From the 30 minutes or so that I saw, I'd agree.

Still early in season three of Arrow, so I'm assuming the suckage comes later. It's been pretty solid so far. And I have to say, Felicity is hot as hell as a goth looking girl in the fifth episode.

Edit: By the way, I love Oliver getting all pissy in episode six about Laurel training with a former vigilante who accidentally killed one guy six years ago. It's like, dude...you killed like fifty people two years ago in season one, not to mention the body count you racked up during the five years you were assumed dead (we're still adding to that list via flashbacks). Hell, I'm pretty sure he may have killed a couple of people just a few episodes earlier when they went to South America and he shot them with a pistol, and that was after he established his no killing mantra. Oliver doesn't exactly have a lot of ground to stand on here.

Honestly, the no killing thing just seems stupid on this show solely because he spent the first season killing people in every episode. I get that, generally speaking, he's trying not to kill any more, but to make it such a set in stone rule is just dumb on a show where the rule was created for entirely arbitrary reasons. At least for Batman it makes sense (saw his parents murdered as a kid...refuses to kill or use guns...logical), even if it is incredibly naive and stupid.

Watched it. It was okay, the previews for whats coming up later in the season seems promising.

And about the kid, holy shit. Almost, if not as bad as Carl from Walking Dead.

Where in the shit did great kids actors go? They seem to be like needles in haystacks now-a-days. The Asian girl on Modern Family is horrible. Every time she has a line my teeth itch and I want to throw my remote at the TV. But the boy is great.

To me, it's a very frustrating show in the exact same sense as the books. Very cool ideas, some great characters, but somehow, it never is as good as you think it should be.

As annoying as Eph is on the show, I remember him being equally annoying in the books. Very self-absorbed, and ust repeatedly does stupid/annoying shit.

Some Arrow season three spoilers (up to episode 3x11) coming...

I'm just trying to figure out why exactly Malcolm Merlyn is still a bad guy at this point. Like, I totally understand his motivations in the first season. His wife got killed and he wanted to cleanse the city. Crazy, sure, but at least understandable. But in this season I really just don't get what he's going for. His logic for having Sara killed doesn't really make any sense. Does he honestly think Oliver can kill Ra's (dude got his ass handed to him)? Why wouldn't he just do the trial by combat himself if he considers himself a dead man anyway once Oliver loses?

It seems that, given Oliver's role in trying to clean up the city, they should basically be on the same side at this point. I guess it would have been too original and refreshing to have a former villain end up on the same side as the hero, though. Regardless, I just don't understand any of his motives this season. He waffles between totally logical and wildly crazy with no real consistency. It would have been much more interesting if he hadn't been responsible for Sara's death, and instead just really wanted to become closer to his daughter. They just kind of turned him into even more of a cartoon supervillain, which is depressing. I wanted to believe him when he said he had nothing to do with Sara's death because that would have been a much more compelling plot. The fact that they went back and made him the guy behind it all was just depressing.

I'm also not totally sure how Oliver was revived. Wasn't he sitting on the cliff for like four days before his body was recovered? How the fuck is he alive again? Do they explain that? Because I certainly didn't see him getting dipped in a Lazarus Pit (which is what I expected to happen when I saw him die). Further, dude fell like several hundred feet onto pure rock. How does he not have five dozen broken bones? Is that Asian lady a magician?

As far as Merlyn goes, his best plan would have been to frame someone from the League of Assassins as Sara's murderer and use that framing to team up with Oliver to take down Ra's. Given the blood price on his head, teaming up is clearly the smartest play for Merlyn. If they were going to have him be the one to kill Sara (or at least be responsible for it), that would have been a much more interesting plot than what we got.

Oh yeah, and the threat to Merlyn seems totally fucking idle. He's been haging out in Corto Maltese and Starling City for months and basically no one has tried to kill him. The League of Assassins just seems totally inept right now. He's barely even trying to hide. He's showed up in numerous public places, including places of known connections like Oliver's night club that you'd think the League, should they really want him dead, would be watching non-stop. Why the fuck does he fear the League at all when they weren't even remotely successful in even finding him even after they were pretty sure he was still alive?
