(No Longer) Joe Woods’ Defense

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This tweet was prior to the Washington game. Trotter didn't provide any post-Week 7 stats, like the above passing stats, to see if there has been any real improvement for run defense.

My biggest coaching complaint with Joe Woods has been the pass defense. I chalked up the run defense problems to more of a personnel issue than a coaching issue. If the passing defense is as good as the numbers say that they are then the D-Line issues seem like to root cause of the run D issues.

Long story short...

The Browns run defense has been awful the entire season.

The pass defense was also awful for the first 6 weeks plus the Dolphins game in week 10.

Since week 6 the overall pass defense has been very good, albeit helped out by a few terrible weather games and a couple of very weak passing opponents.

Why does it take him 7 weeks to figure it out the last two years.

Quote all the stats you want but that and so many blown coverages make me want him gone. Tomorrow
Remember the Browns began scouting and seriously investigating trading for Watson in October 2022. I bet the Browns move on from DC Joe Woods Monday and have a guy lined up pretty quickly. Clowney even said there will be a lot of big changes this offseason. He threw Woods under the bus. My best guesses for the new DC: Jim Schwartz or Jim Leonhard.

Could be the number one defense in the league since week 7 for all I care. He cost us a playoff spot by shitting the bed through weeks 1-6, and he is a repeat offender.

Dont let the door hit you
