Official Akron Aeros Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Interesting. His average is finally creeping up there.

Speaking of Lonnie Chisenhall, thought ya'll would like to know he got promoted to AA Akron.

Santana hit his 20th HR tonight for Akron. Chisenhall started at 3rd base as well.

I'm surprised Chisenhall got promoted. Don't think he got a hit in his debut though.

edit: never mind! must have gotten one in his last AB, he got a 2 bagger.

CM, since you seem to know a bunch about most of the prospects in the system I had a a couple questions for you.

I was wondering if you see Santana at AAA or higher next year or does he stay with Akron another season or does he split the season between AA and AAA?

I know a little about Chisenhall, not much though, his approach at the plate seems pretty decent for a player his age, which reflects in his stats. As a player how do you see him projecting in the future at the higher levels and do you see him staying at Akron or moving straight to AAA next season or a possible split between the 2 levels?

I personally see Santana up with the big boys this September. How long do the minor league playoffs last?

I also see him invited to spring training and if sent down, will be back up with two months next spring. This kid seems to be a can't miss. I'm excited. A little more experience with D and we could have our version of Rodriguez or Bench. :) A little over the top? Maybe, maybe not.

I'm not 100% positive but I think Shapiro said he will not come up when he was talking in the broadcaster booth with Manning and Underwood

I think they're trying to work him up fast to get to the bigs maybe as soon as next year. Kind of like Beckham on Chicago. They see talent, and a possible impact at an early age.

Yes. I can now answer my own question. It's possible he will be in the playoffs for most of September. I think the Indians want him to have that playoff experience with Akron.

According to the official Eastern League site, the last game they show is for September 20th

I'm by no means Mr Prospect around here, but I think the farm teams of major league organizations are pretty interesting because those cats are the future of the sport, so I'll tell you what I'm sure several other people have already told you:

Santana will almost assuredly be in AAA next year. He's had a fantastic season at AA.

Chisenhall however I think spends next year in AA but who knows? If he develops very quickly he could be fast tracked, but no, he's still like..20? I think? I'd definitely expect him to be in Akron all next season.

Highly doubt they think they can get Chisenhall up here next season, but I'm not going to pretend I can predict the development tracks these young players take. Chisenhall is gonna be a stud.

That was responding to Santana possibly getting called up.

Sorry I quoted the wrong post, I meant to quote:
