Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Chisenhall was the 31st pick in the 2008 draft (1st round). Talented middle-infielder coming out of high school and a top recruit of South Carolina. Was Baseball America's pick to be Freshman of the Year in college baseball in 07, then got kicked off the baseball team in March of '07 after being arrested for stealing video equipment from a campus building. It was an odd turn of events for Chisenhall, who didn't have a prior record of mischief and hasn't had any issues since. He landed at a JUCO in 2008 and hit well enough to draw attention again from scouts. Would have gone much higher if it hadn't of been for the arrest and subsequent booting from school.

He was drafted as a SS but was shifted to 3B. Has a good line drive swing with good bat speed. Only 20 years old, the power has come sooner than expected and it is why he has jumped up the rankings. Has alot of work to do defensively after moving to 3B but he has good athleticism so it shouldn't be a stretch for him. Kind of reminds me of Travis Fryman- lanky strong, consistent, good bat control but not a high walk guy, good pop for the infield. Obviously not where Fryman was defensively at the same age. He is considered an advanced hitter and expected to move quickly through the system. He probably starts next season at Akron, and if he hits well there don't be surprised to see him in Buffalo by the end of the year.

Not to be a wise ass, but dont you mean Columbus instead of Buffalo?

No, I mean Buffalo- I predict he will be traded to the Mets for prospects to spare the Indians from arbitration in 2015. :chuckles: Dang, I can't believe I missed that, thanks.

What's going on with Beau Mills? I remember non-stop talk about how the guy was going to be one of the greatest hitters in the game, but it looks like he's playing like crap.

Aeros are in the playoffs and are up 2-0 in the 1st series (there is only 2 rounds). Santana hit a bomb last night, and Gomez pitched very well.

If you have time and are bored, you should try catching one of the games in the next round or game 5 of this series. It is actually more entertaining than watching the Tribe.

I hadn't been to an Aeros game in years, and I really never cared if they won or lost, but I have gone to a few games this year, and they have been a lot more fun than Tribe games.

Reasons it is better than watching the Tribe:

1) Every ticket is $10 and every seat is a good seat.

2) Food is still expensive, but prices are low for a baseball game. During the season they have buy one get one free hot dogs on some nights (3 bucks I think for one). Some days they have $1 beers and fountain drinks up til the 3rd inning (they are tiny though).

3) They actually win once in a while.

4) We have more talent in Akron than we do in the majors. :(

5) If you haven't had a chance to see Santana play, you are missing out. All 3 games I have gone to, the guy just seems like a stud. He has gotten on base at least twice in each game and has made some nice plays on defense.

6) You will see some very interesting looking old folks. :chuckles:

7) They have a bat man, their version of the bat boy. Is a 45ish year old dude with a huge gut. He wears a batman belt and is constantly dancing like a drunk and staring into the crowd and waving the bat around and throwing in between his legs. He walks as slow as possible to get all of the bats and holds up the game at times. The guy is hilarious. It almost seems like he is handicapped, but I don't think he is. He basically thinks he is hot shit but hes an old fat dude that is a bat boy at a AA baseball game, so therefore it is hilarious.:chuckles:

8) Free Parking if you go to the right spots.

There also seem to be some talented players down there that don't get talked about much. I don't know if it will translate to the pros, but they look good in AA (obviously it is very different, I am just sayin).

Jeanmar Gomez (21 years old) won Eastern League Pitcher of the Year. (3.43 ERA)

Carlton Smith (reliever, I have never even heard of him. 23 years old) has looked great in the few times I have seen him. 2.72 ERA in 79 IP.

Jose Costanza (OF, 25 years old) will probably never be anything in pros, but he is a fun player to watch. He is very scrappy and is fast as hell. He had 49 steals. Maybe he can make it one day as a pinch runner/defensive replacement guy.

I haven't seen Erik Stiller or Steven Wright pitch, but they both have had good statistical seasons. Wright threw 81 innings (64 K's, 20 walks) with a 2.32 ERA and also went 10-0. He also only gave up one homerun. Hes 25 years old. Stiller is also 25 and had a 3.23 ERA with 68 strike outs in 69.2 IP.

Also saw this on their website... Maybe a Wedge replacement candidate?

SARBAUGH NAMED EASTERN LEAGUE MANAGER OF THE YEAR

Aeros skipper Mike Sarbaugh has been named Eastern League Manager of the Year, the league announced today. Sarbaugh, who was tabbed as the best managerial prospect in the league this season by Baseball America, has led Akron to a league-best 83-53 record while clinching the regular-season Southern Division title for the first time since 2006. The Aeros also became the first team in the 86-year history of the Eastern League with five consecutive 80-win seasons.

LOVE going to Aeros games. I took my son to 3 or 4 games this season.

9) The Players are extremely accessible and willing to sign anything you put in front of them. I had the entire team sign a ball for my son one game and also had Santana sign a stack of cards that I picked up at the National this year.

Aeros have won 13 straight games now (8 regular season, 5 postseason).

Friday could be the last game. If they win they will be the eastern league champions for the first time since 2005.

How's Santana doing?

How's Santana doing?

Are the playoff games televised at all?

Aeros lost by 1 tonight (series 2-1 Aeros).

Our starting pitcher (Berger) is the worst fielder of all time. The other team pulled a high school play on him when theres 2 outs and runners on 1st and 3rd. The guy on 1st just started walking towards 2nd base to get in a run down so the guy at 3rd can score. Berger ended up throwing the ball away so the run scored.

Later on a guy bunted and Berger waited and waited for it to go foul, but it never did, he then picked the ball up and threw it to 1st even though the runner was already there. That cost us a run too.

Then in the 9th our LF and SS collided on a pop up, that cost us a run too.

Santana BOMBED another homer to LF.

Beau Mills continued to look like a stiff. Every time I go to a game, he absolutely blows.

The biggest difference I have seen from AA to the pros is the fielding. It really is a HUGE difference. There is usually 4+ errors every time I go. I don't know if it is just a coincidence, or if they are really that bad.

I got Santana's autograph though, so that is one good thing that happened today. I am still pretty bummed about the D.West thing.

wtf is this ?

I concur on the poor defense part. Watching games at Lake County can be painful- so many outs are given away. Reminds me of Jhonny Peralta's first year at AA. He was really erratic at SS; I know folks have bagged on his defense in the bigs but he became much more consistent. Back then, he just looked sloppy at SS.

I wouldn't give up on Beau just yet. His year was disappointing but the power is there. He does need to start off hot next year, though.

Aeros won 10-6. Santana went 2-3 with a walk and hit another BOMB. He seems pretty cocky and likes to have a good time like a lot of dominican players do. It was fun. I didn't know what to expect if they won, but they were celebrating a lot. It was fun to see considering I haven't seen any Cleveland teams get to celebrate like that.

YAY WE FINALLY WON A SHIP!!! :notfunny?

Trying to upload a video, but it wont work.
