That was me, good job. Game got rained out tonight I heard.

Shame. There was no baseball on tonight.

:thumbdown

*UPDATED*

Columbus now 1-3, starting pitching really struggling, but the new prospects tearing it up to start the season

While it's a very, extremely small sample size...LaPorta's hit to XBH ratio is...wow.

He might be the first person since Belle to have a legit shot at 50 HR 502B. He'll definitely hit 30 HR 30 2B at this pace.

He's on a tear to start the year.. if this is any indication how he'll be in the pros, wow.. just.. wow!

Most of the newbies look good for the most part.. Brantley, Valbuena and Meloan especially

I thought Marte was off our team?

He never got claimed when we let him go, so we were able to send him to AAA

Brantley is being underrated. He is hot too, but just needs to develop more power. This is our leadoff guy of the future.

I don't care if he has power as long as he gets on base and can steal bases at a decent clip thats what we need in that spot. Kind of like Gomez in MIN this way Grady can be dropped to 3 where the lineup will benefit best from what Grady can do.

I didn't even realize this but I know a kid named Mike McClendon- a pretty good reliever prospect in the Brewers organization- who used to pitch on the same team as LaPorta.

Not that it means anything but he said of all the guys he got to see in the lower levels, LaPorta was the most impressive power hitter in his eyes.

Oh I agree, but being a doubles hitter too would help Brantley even more. He is extremely fast too, he wont just swipe a few bases. I expect him to steal regularly.

When ever I see some mention power I always think their talking about home runs, fantasy baseball has corrupted me on that level..But I get what your saying, from every thing I've read and the clips I've seen of him the kid looks real fast and like he can rake...I can't wait till it stops raining here in Columbus so I can go check out some Clippers games, I think they open the new park this Saturday night and I'm going to try and go to a bunch of early season games before they start calling people up.

It'll be nice to have a real lead off hitter once he's up in Cleveland, hopefully. Now, for pitching....
