Report: Iverson Traded To Denver
19th December, 2006 - 3:34 pm
ESPN -
According to NBA front-office sources, the Denver Nuggets have reached an agreement in principle with the Philadelphia 76ers to acquire Allen Iverson.

The trade, pending league approval, would send Andre Miller, Joe Smith and two 2007 first-round picks to the Sixers for Iverson and perhaps another minimum-salaried player or two.

The deal is expected to be finalized on Tuesday.

this was off realgm

well I am glad it is over cause I was tired of hearing about it

I sure wouldnt mind trying to trade for one of Philly 3 first rounders in next years draft....I bet Ferry will be making that call soon

Figured it would be Denver. Best deal imo. 2 first round picks in 07, joe smith comes off the books and you get a good pg.

Philly has, their own pick in the 1st, Denver's and Golden State's.

Anyone know if Miller's contract is up at year end? On hoopshype they give no salary beyond this year.

Damn, nice deal for Philly. I never thought they'd do this well.

My feeling is that this is good for the Cavs. Ferry is tighter with Billy King(roomate at Duke) than any other GM in the league. Ferry wants to get into the first round and Billy King has 3 picks. This is a very good thing, imo.

I don't see how we can pry away a 1st from them. If I was King, I would try and package and maybe move up?

But what player do we have that we could snag a late first round pick? The only player that comes to my mind that we would trade is Gooden.

I can see Webber being the next one gone. I would take anything I could for the gimp, just get his $ off the books.

I was thinking the exact same thing you were. The only other GM he talks to nearly as much is Ainge ...at least most recently. Both teams seem to have something we would like ....it could be the makings of something down the road. Getting a #1 next year would be nice ...even if it's the lowest of the Philly options.

Oh I'm sorry, George.. I must still have you on ignore..

Am I the only one thinking an Iverson-Anthony team is another brawl waiting to happen? Maybe within the locker room?

This is supposed to be a deep draft. Both of those picks he got from Denver are supposed to be in the 20's according the RammStein over at ESPN, so maybe King can use one to deal with, move up, and we can get in on that other pick. If they move Webber - which I agree they by all means should, I just have no idea who the hell will take him - Gooden looks good in Philly. Maybe Gooden/Pavs/Newble for Korver and the pick?

No. Not even. That was my first thought as well.
