that's a nice line-up. The Flaming Lips show is one of the best I've veer been to. I saw Happy Mondays last year Shawn Ryder was just a shadow of his former self. The songs are still good though.

The Pixies are playing later tongight here, along with the Editors. I was thinking of maybe going.

Never quite got into the Pixies. Love to catch the Editors though. Two very good albums thus far.
 
First of all, it is FREAKING GREAT to see my two obsessions, indie/alternative music + the Cavs, come together in a forum like this :thumbup:

Second, its awesome to see Doves get some credit on here as well. Been one of my favorite bands ever since Lost Souls came out. I, personally, think they blow away most of the bands they're compared to like Coldplay, Elbow, etc. The new album is simply ridiculous, with Jetstream, 10:03, and Spellbound being my favorites. (the last few minutes of 10:03 is incredible)

Third,
A band I haven't seen mentioned yet on here is The Stills. If you're a fan of garage-rock, or just rock music in general, you've got to listen to their first ablum, Logic Will Break your Heart. I'd go as far as saying that it is one of my top 5 albums of the last 10 years... its that good. Their 2nd album wasn't very good, as some of the members left the band, but their newest, "Oceans Will Rise" is extremely good too.

Been a while since anyone posted here, but I'll toss a band out:

The Rural Alberta Advantage

I've had their album for a while now (they actually self-released it last year), but they recently signed to a label, who just re-released it this week, so I wanted to wait to post about them until their album was officially out.

They sound kind of like Neutral Milk Hotel, but a little more jangly? I'm not good at comparisons, but if you like standard indie rock music (Shins, Death Cab, etc.), you might as well spend a few minutes and check these guys out. I've been listening to it pretty regularly for the last several months.

Bump.....

Caught the Flaming Lips last week at a festival. Brilliant show.

Bloc Party were the highlight of the weekend though, followed closely by Doves, Flaming Lips and White Lies. MGMT were average. No stage presence at all.

p.s. have you all tried pandora.com??? Its pretty amazing. You can make customized radio stations. For instance start a station with "My Morning Jacket" and they will try and find similar bands. But you can give a thumbs up or thumbs down to each song (if you give a thumbs down, that song will never be played on that station again). Also you are able to "add variety" to the radio station, by typing in other bands you want to play on that particular station. Its free for up to 40 hours a month (you can pay after that if you want). I max out my 40 hours every month, then just wait for the 1st to come around because I don't feel like paying.
