Open Discussion (Cavs + related issues)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm with Gourimoko. have a lot of confidence in this team making the Finals but much less in winning it once we're there. We have basically seven roster slots now used on guys who are looking like they might be actually or borderline unplayable in the late rounds of the playoffs (unless RJ returns to last year's form). Usually you end up paying for wasting that many roster slots on people who can't give you much or anything even situationally. (We certainly paid in 2015). Plus there are obvious holes in our top seven players in terms of length and athleticism in the frontcourt and a perimeter defender for Durant.

Oh I agree, Durant would go to town on him. I wouldn't like it either. But I was just thinking it would at least put everyone else in their spot. JR and Kyrie would really have to do respectable jobs against the splash brothers at least (they've shown they can too).

I vote for getting a better wing defender so that guy can replace Shump though. Love has to start at the 5 IMO either way.

Zaza won't play, they will use this lineup if they get to the advanced stages

Steph/Klay/Igiuana/Durant/Green

But I like your lineup, maybe switch T.T with Love for more defense

The only reason I'd be against that, because man, they'd be easy to score on. And if you're going to have Shump out there. Who I know has improved offensively, but still, I don't want TT out there too.

That makes it too easy for them to ignore those two players, and Kyrie, 'Bron, and even JR attract all the attention. You got to start Love against this team.

Last year was different. This year they have too much offense to rely just on Kyrie and LeBron so much.

Besides, you force Kerr's hand. If they go super small, that favors us IMO. No real size/rim protection is good for Kyrie and LeBron.

But man, I'd really prefer getting a bigger and more athletic 3-D guy. We badly need that. I really hope Griffin forgets this nonsense of trying to find a backup point guard. What for? That guy isn't going to help us in the playoffs. Let Shump come off the bench and guard Steph/Livingston...

A backup point guard is a need, but not that big of one. They need another bigger, athletic 2/3, or 3/4 player IMO that can defend and at least hit open shots.

If they can't get that guy, it's going to be really hard to beat GS. Honestly, I don't see it. Not trying to be a downer. They just have too much talent, and you don't want to not match up well against this team.

I really wouldnt say anything if we could pry away Casspi from SAC
His value is at an all time low. His shot is off, he is falling out of the Rotation and he is on a small expiring deal.

He would be perfect for us. He would be the longterm solution and backup SF and PF he is only 28.

He has shown he can be a good shooter and a solid defender and at 6'9 he is long Enough to guard KD.

Having said that i wouldnt want to lose Shump for getting Caspi not if Shump stays relativly healthy and keeps playing great.
I dont like the idea of trading a guy ONLY because we need a match up for KD.
We did that back in 2010 when we got Shaq to match up with Dwight.. worked out great...

After all you cant only build a Team because of Matchups. One Injury could derial GSW and we face SA or LAC. Especially against LAC i wouldnt want to have traded Iman away. He can guard Paul and Redick. Then again a guy like Casspi would be usefull against Kahwi if its SA..
You cant plan for matchups.. you have to build a Team that plays well together and live with the results.
If its a guy like Casspi for the TPE and a Pick then i am all for it but not if a healthy, good Shooting Shump is involved.
.
Please no Ass Fingers again. Not sure if you watched the non-Lebron years but...no just no.

Two stinkers in a row and our first real drama (losing streak) of the season.

Hoping the guys mentally check in against the Bulls tomorrow.

I would say lbj comes out to play vs Wade but you would think that would have happened against CP3.

He's wearing a cubs uniform on his way in. I think the schedule loss was tonight guys

I was thinking to myself I'd be ok with our record if we had 4 losses or less after the Raptors game.

Still hoping we can get there.

We have structural issues. We could use more size, more youth, more athleticism. Love still has trouble finishing against length and especially athletic length.

But we're still almost unbeatable when we care and when we hit threes.

I hate that we look like YMCA rec-league hacks when our shots aren't falling. But we are working on our third consecutive Finals here and guys get burnt out. And we're old, overall.

It's just ugly to watch in games like the last two. Milwaukee basically set up a dunk line on us and Jordan pretty much did the same tonight.

Still, if we win the Bulls and Raptors games, I'll be feeling ok.

Games like this really show how much we're missing Delly running that second unit bringing that stability, at least in the regular season, I think the fact that Delly barley played in the finals made front office forget how valuable he was for the other 90+ games you actually need to play lol.

Welp, just 1 out of 82 on to the next one.

Delly is doing great in Milwaukee. He looked good tonight (saw that game).

I really wish we kept him since Mo just punted on us. Definitely missing him now.

Eh...we weren't really missing Delly the first 15 games of the season...

I think this team became a little too sidetracked with things away from basketball. Cancelling practice and a shoot-around to go to a college football game has coincided with the last 3 games...we've looked equally bad in all 3 since that, just got lucky that one of those teams was the 76ers.

Team needs to rein it in a bit, mentally.

That's down to opinion. We miss a back up PG IMO. He balanced out Kyrie. They were Good cop bad cop. One is shot happy and lackadaisical on D, the other a pass-happy scrapper. His name keeps coming up because we created an unsolvable problem. In this market there is no Delly replacement now or in the near future. I guess we'll wait and see

Not saying I don't miss Delly...just that this teams problem right now isn't that they don't have Delly...

Saying "we miss Delly, we miss Timo" is letting our current team off the hook for not giving a shit right now IMO. That's the difference between the team that started 13-2 and the one that's 1-2 their last 3 games with 2 blowout losses.
