Honestly guys, like how much fucking worse can we get? we talk about getting set back and all that jazz, but if you think about it, why not take the risk? what do we have to lose? you get one of the greatest athletes to ever play quarterback in college, he comes from a great background, hes intelligent/well spoken, great leader, has a great arm... im just getting the feeling that some people on this board are afraid of taking a risk on drafting a quarterback so high because it could make us worse if he doesnt pan out... our offense really could not be much worse. McCoy was a 3rd rounder, and we saw this year exactly what we knew we were going to get. a tough kid with moxie and some leadership, but he just does not have the tools. he hangs his receivers out to dry because he cant put any zip on the ball, he cant stretch the defense down field with his arm, he cant throw from the pocket. BASED ON WHAT WE HAVE SEEN SO FAR, colt is unworthy of any form of safety in maintaing his role. we dont get to see him every day in practice either... if the fact that shurmur, holmgren, and co really do not come off excited when they talk about colt doesnt speak volumes about his abilities, then i dont know what does. at some point, you have to take a risk in today's NFL. its painfully obvious how hard it is to get lucky and have a tom brady fall into our laps in the later rounds, since we have tried that ever since we drafted tim couch 1 overall and he didn't pan out. not taking your guy/putting off finding a franchise quarterback puts the franchise further back than taking one and having him flop, in my opinion.
