Potential destinations for Ramon Sessions

How about a trade with the Lakers?. -- Without them receiving Sessions

I'm not one to usually post these things but..
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6uht2dy
+ Cavs receive 1st round pick from LAL

Kobe has vouched to keep Gasol so.. Lakers finally get a star PG, move Gasol to C and slot Jamison in at PF.
Then you got a line up of Rondo/Kobe/MWP(or Barnes)/Jamison/Gasol. Better than the squad they have out there right now??

For Boston, who are purportedly shopping Rondo because they're tired of him.. Get two young players to build around (Sessions and Bynum).
Sessions/Allen/Pierce/KG/Bynum. Not bad at all.

Then for the Cavs, this is pretty easy. They get JO's expiring contract, can play a bit of Center while AV recovers. Get two friendly contracts in McRoberts, and Avery Bradley (who is young and a solid defender at the 1 and 2 spots).. AND pick up a 1st rounder in the exchange.

... To me it makes sense - IF the Celts are committed to trading Rondo, and the Lakers are committed to getting a good PG. Thoughts?

I like this in theory. I don't know if the Lakers would help the Celtics and vice versa, but it would make sense for both franchises. It also saves both teams some money and gives them additional flexibility. I'd tweak things around a bit though to make the Cavs more of a dump site for the bad contracts in exchange for future picks. This is what I would do:

Cleveland trades: Antawn Jamison and Ramon Sessions
Cleveland obtains: Jermaine O'Neal, Luke Walton, Steve Blake, 2012 first (LAC via BOS), and 2012 first (DAL via LAL)

Boston trades: Rajon Rondo, Jermaine O'Neal, and 2012 first (LAC)
Boston obtains: Andrew Bynum and Ramon Sessions

Los Angeles trades: Andrew Bynum, Luke Walton, Steve Blake, and 2012 first (DAL)
Los Angeles obtains: Antawn Jamison and Rajon Rondo

I tried taking the two least desirable picks from each of the teams so that the Cavs could get both. O'Neal expires this year, Walton is fodder (may retire/be bought out), and Blake can serve as a decent backup PG behind Kyrie. With these two firsts and the two seconds, the Cavs could have serious ammo to trade for future picks or move up.

The Lakers were close to a smaller deal with Cleveland for backup point guard Ramon Sessions but didn't want to part with the future first-round pick they acquired from Dallas for Odom.

If that is true, and the Lakers are playing hard-ball with their #1 picks, then the Cavaliers would do "well" to start leaked negotiations with other clubs for a future 1st (for Sessions) - possibly putting pressure on the Lakers to get something done.

Typical posturing right now. LA is looking for a home run deal- Dwight Howard/Rondo type stuff. If they are unable to get that then they will turn to Cleveland and Ramon Sessions as their backup plan.

I think the Cavaliers come out of the deadline with 2 1st round picks. 1 for Sessions and 1 for absorbing some unknown contact with our salary cap space. I do not see the Cavaliers using 3 1st round picks this year in addition to their 2 2nd rounders. No way they come into camp with 5 rookies. I can see them either getting the 2 picks for this year and then packaging them at the draft to either move up, get a veteran or make a deal for a 2013 1st round pick. Or they will get a 2012 1st rounder for Sessions and a 2013 first rounder for cap space like BigFoot said.

I also think Jamison will be bought out after the deadline because we won't be able to trade him.

I would expect Grant to be aggressive like Pritchard in 2006. Portland then went into draft week with a no. 4 pick and came out with Roy, Aldridge, Sergio Rodriguez and a slew of future second-round picks.

I agree that the Cavs won't go into camp with 5 rookies, but those picks are good assets, no matter which year.

Wow I never realized that Portland got Aldridge and Roy in the same draft. All that then getting the Number one pick the next year. If not for all the injuries they would be right there with OKC. Sad.

But both they and OKC had the same model. we just need to pull off some nice deals for picks and maneuver correctly in the draft. This trade deadline, and upcoming draft are HUGE for the future of this franchise.

In case you missed it, Bleacher Report is reporting this rumored deal :

Cle Out : Ramon Sessions
Cle In : Marvin Williams + Hawks first

This would be about the best trade ever! Now I know BR isn't the most reliable source but if this were to happen, I would forever respect Grant! After trading Mo for KI (with luck/help from stern), drafting KI and TT...

Make it happen Grant!

Im not the hugest Marvin fan but getting him and a first for Ramon is riduclously good value. The validity of BR is pretty awful though.

This is what the article says
Recent rumors have been swirling around about a deal with these two teams.

The rumored deal would give the Cavaliers the Hawks' first round pick in the upcoming draft, and also the small forward, Marvin Williams.

In return, the Atlanta Hawks would get Ramon Sessions.

I'm pretty sure that it is a rumor not just an idea. Though the bleacher report does have credibility issues, there is no way you could read that as just a trade idea article.

I don't disagree with you, but I like to consider things a rumor when it comes from more then one source. Just my thoughts.

I would prefer getting Marvin Williams and their 1st round pick over EITHER of the 1st round picks the Lakers could offer. IF this were true, Chris Grant better say yes before Rick Sund second guesses himself.

Young wing player and a 1st for a guy who wont be here in a few months... the holy grail trade.

Ramon Session trade rumors are still a hot topic. It may be close to the deadline when it happens but expect him to be moved.

Sam The Bullshit Whisperer - One source tells FOX Sports Ohio that “it’ll be a miracle” if Ramon Sessions is still with Cleveland after the trading deadline.

“I don’t know that they’re actively shopping him, but they’re certainly listening,” the source said. “It’s nothing personal. (Sessions and the Cavs) have a strong relationship. The Cavs really respect and admire him. They wouldn’t be against keeping him. But...

That someone could be Ramon Sessions ($4.2 million/$4.5 million). The Lakers are doing some fast talking to the Cavaliers, who are swamped by calls, as are the Kings. Sacramento leads the league in cap room, $9.4 million, whereas Cleveland has $7.1 million. Teams want them to take contracts for draft picks so they can maneuver.
