Tara Reid is still alive? No shit.

And why not ?

Sharknado2 was epic. Have 15 kids in my house watching it now while the wife and I drown in some wine on the deck. It gets bonus points for that alone.
Geniuses wrote that shit. So bad its good. 10/10.

How is there not a star trek thread for you nerds? :)

Watched Rocky 1 & 2.

As I've never seen the majority of those movies. Those movies are long!
I fell asleep during the second one, when I saw how it was going. Sorry, I really got bored with it. I drifted off when they were training, which may have been the best part of part 2.

I'm perplexed by Stallone for some reason.

Agreed with this. Wasn't entirely sure what to expect going in, but it was thoroughly entertaining. Casting was solid all around. It wasn't the most deft storytelling, especially early on when they're just throwing a bunch of shit at you, but it comes together and is pretty fun from beginning to end. Kinda wish it went with an R rating to really help it reach it's potential, but hey, gotta make that money.

Thanos will play a big role
I think he will come in at the back end of age of ultron then gaurdians of the galaxy 2 leading to avengers 3 being the infinity guantlet story arch, but i might be wrong
i just hope they dont use him up too quickly, the guy is a badass

I'm pretty sure Marvel has already confirmed that the Tesseract from Avengers is one of the gems for the Infinity Gauntlet, so I'd say that's where they're going to go with the story of the third movie. People have also speculated that the thing from Thor 2 was another one of the gems.

Yes, it's confirmed that the Tesseract and the Aether are Infinity Gems in the Thor 2 post-credits scene when Volstagg handed the Aether over to the Collector.

I have to say, I'm pretty impressed by how well Marvel has been able to keep all this crap coherent from one movie to the next while still making each movie stand on its own (aside from Iron Man 3, which just sucked). Really awesome that we get to see their universe play out like this in dozens of films. It's just such a shame that they don't have the rights to X-Men or Spider-Man. How much better could all of this be if they had access to some of their best characters?

Guardians of the Galaxy - 8.5/10. Movie was fantastic. Easily one of the best movies I've seen all year. This is a great film to take the kids to, or for date night. Definitely worth the ticket price.

I hate most comedies, and this was genuinely a funny movie. Good action, likable characters, believable antagonists, good writing, good direction, beautiful settings... Had a very "Heavy Metal" feel to it (toned down for general viewing of course), which made me smile throughout the movie. If you like cyber/steampunk genres, you'll love this movie.

Does that mean Adam Warlock will be featuring in the foreseeable Marvel movies?

Answering my own question -

During the course of Gunn's movie, the Guardians encounter The Collector and bring to him an orb which he reveals to be an Infinity Stone. While explaining their origins, The Collector's red-skinned assistant touches the stone, levelling the entire room and destroying most of what is inside.

The film's post-credits scene shows The Collector sitting among his ruins as Cosmo (another Marvel character also seen to be in The Collector's possession) runs up to him and licks his face. It's then that Howard the Duck of all people/aliens/things speaks up.

In the background of this scene we see that the cocoon is broken, meaning Adam Warlock has escaped and is now walking around Marvel's cinematic universe - most likely to show up Gunn's 2017 Guardians sequel.

Asked to give listeners a tour of The Collector's museum, Gunn says on the podcast: "Well many people may look up to the right of The Collector as we first see him, and you will see a certain duck named Howard that turns to look at the group. That's one of my favourite little things in the background.

"There are the slither creature from my movie Slither behind The Collector, those guys are pretty obvious. You have Adam Warlock's cocoon, you have all sorts of other characters from Marvel movies."

Guardians of the Galaxy is in cinemas now. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is set for release on 28 July 2017.

Pretty sure Loki's staff is one, as well.

That would make sense. I believe HYDRA had possession of that in Cap 2 which would have the 3 known gems (prior to guardians, haven't seen it yet) in different places as Volstagg mentioned to be necessary.

You are correct. They had his staff in the first bonus scene at the end of Winter Soldier.

I'm really interested to see if they're going to continue to (mostly) follow the Cap stories from Ed Brubaker. Those were some great comics, and I think they'd work really well in movie form. It would also give the Marvel movies a natural transition away from Chris Evans as Captain America if he's not interested in doing more than his current commitment's worth of movies.

This isn't really the thread for it, but is anyone else excited to see what Netflix does with Daredevil? The movie sucked, but the Bendis comics were incredible...easily some of the best story arcs I've ever read. I'm also digging the casting so far. If they follow the Bendis Daredevil comics, we could be looking at a really great show.
