But here's the thing. Shouldn't we know the draft order before we decide if we want to keep our player?
Let's discuss a fair way to determine draft order. I don't want to go by last year's finish in reverse order, the entire reason Soda is out of the league this year is a measure to prevent tanking. I also don't want to be accused of favoritism if I select it.
What I'm seeing elsewhere for keepers is the value of a player is equal to where they were drafted the previous year, if they are kept multiple seasons the value goes up a round. There is a 3 year cap on keeping the same player. UFAs count as the final (14th spot) the first year.
Let's go with those rules, next season we bump the keeper players up to two players.
