As far as rules go, once the draft begins, scoring rules and roster settings are all going to be locked in for the year. Anyone can still propose rule changes, but anything we vote on will take effect next season.
The draft each year will mark the start of the new league season, so any rules or roster settings that you would like to vote on should be brought up prior to our rookie draft next summer. I think that this is the fairest way to do it. We can't be changing rules during the year or after people have drafted their rookies since those types of changes factor into draft decisions.
Also, each summer prior to the draft you will have to set your keepers. We roster 35 players and you can keep up to 35. However, the rookie draft each year will be five rounds long, and you will need to make appropriate cuts to accommodate your rookie picks. If you have five picks, you will need to only set 30 keepers. If you have more than five picks, you need to take that into account when you set your keepers. I'm honestly not sure what will happen if you go into the draft with more picks than roster spots, but it's probably best to just avoid the issue. I'll send out an email prior to the keeper deadline that outlines how many picks each team has and, thus, how many keepers they should set.
Any players that are not kept at the keeper deadline will be cut automatically and entered into the rookie draft pool. You also don't need to keep 30 players just because you have five picks. You can decide to only keep 25, or 28, or whatever. I'll leave that up to each owner.
If you guys have any additional questions, let me know.
