i.e., honor the victims of tragedy with real action instead of symbolic hand-wringing.

So McDonald's responded to BK PR move with a... PR move. Note how they proposed nothing but a broad platitude that a beauty pageant contestant would give as an answer to a pageant question. That is not 'real action' but a PR response. McD's might as well have tweeted the response.

Like I said, if you want a gun control debate thread, then go start one. But this thread isn't it, and we aren't reddit, no one here is dumb enough to think they are going to figure it out here.

I don't really get the need for separation...

I'm not a fan of gun control, but I get the point being raised by the liberals in this thread: if they're continually told not to mention gun control -- then when should they mention gun control? Only when no one cares?

He got fired in 1999,so 16 years later he still holds a grudge?

They settled out of court on a discrimination lawsuit, what happened there? Was the news station innocent?

What has he been doing the last 16 years?

I think those saying we should discuss gun control would argue that gun control itself is the most important thing to discuss whenever one of these preventable shootings happens.
