Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

I don't like Sean Highkin's suggestion at all...

Sean Highkin ‏<s>@</s>shighkinNBA <small class="time"> 7m </small> The new Kings owners need to fire the entire front office, trade everyone except Boogie, and gun HARD for the Wiggins lottery.

Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

Well, I am really curious to see what Vivek does with his version a rebuild, he has two core pieces (Evans and Cousins) to build around. I have a feeling you will get the pick next year with a whole new front office and new focus. No more of the bare minimum that the Kings have been plagued with for 7 long...years.

Many of us were on your side for retaining the team.

But now that you have the team, all we really wanted all along is your pick. :chuckles:

I don't think Vivek is stupid enough to get rid of a core player in Tyreke Evans, I wouldn't put too much stock into him releasing the following players

Demarcus Cousins
Tyreke Evans
Jason Thompson
Patrick Patterson (He is a shooter, which he liked in GS)
Marcus Thornton (our J.R Smith, when he is cold he is cold, but when he is hot...)

everyone else could probably be packed up.

Lol, of course, on the flip side that means my team is improving if you get the pick, everyone wins.

we only want you to improve enough to get us either the 13th pick next year or the 11th pick in 2015, after that just be good enough to somehow bump the Grizzlies from the playoffs.

So true.

Agreed evans got better and more efficant this year also evans and cousins both have good defensive potential build your team around them

Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

I don't see Tyreke Evans as a player worth building around. Cousins could be if they're willing to show enough patience. Evans' game is too isolation oriented and he's struggled playing every position but point guard. Problem is, he's a terrible point guard in terms of making his teammates better. New management needs to inquire about every single player's value around the league and take any offer they really like without hesitating. JMO

Why couldn't he be a ball dominate sg like a James Harden? He showed strides in defense and his jumper this season (47% fg highest in career and 33% 3pt which is 6% better than his whole career so far). James Harden is infinitely better than Evans dont get me wrong. But there is some star talent there. We saw it his rookie year. Cousins should obviously be the cornerstone but you cant just let Tyreke go for a bag of chips. He isnt Eddy Curry

Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

Well, they now have a new owner, a new GM, and a new coach in place. Go Kings!

Kings agree to hire Nuggets executive Pete D’Alessandro as new GM.

Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

I have the feeling that we will never see this pick lo, it's been years and they continue to be like the Pirates.

Pirates look pretty good this year. :dunno:

Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

I'm surprised that people assume we'll never see this pick. It would mean Sacramento won't win 35 games anytime in the next four seasons. They won 28 games this year.

New ownership, with cash, a fanbase that just went to bat to keep the team, and a solid coach and GM. We will definitely see the pick. Probably not this year with the top 12 protection but once that proection drops down to top 10 for 2015, 2016, and 2017, it's definitely coming our way. My strong gut feeling is it will be in 2015 with the Kings either just missing the playoffs and giving us the 12th, 13th, or 14th pick or with them squeezing into the 7th or 8th seed and send us 15, 16, or 17.

2015 will be a rather sweet year for Cavs fans of draft rumors and intigue, as barring trades(which probably will happen) we could have 4 1st round picks:

Our own: (hopefully in the mid to high 20s)
Sacramento: (in the 11-16 range)
The Heats: (top10 protected, hopefully in the 11-18 range)
Memphis: (possibly in the 6-14 range)

Re: Sacramento Kings (get us that draft pick)

Watched the workout of cody zeller on the kings site. Their current home page has a massive vanity poster for cousins. Malone was getting zeller to run dribble hand offs from the high post, maybe mike wants to bring the old princeton back to sactown. Also never seen a player as big as cody have to try so hard to shoot from 25ft. weird, must be the short arms
