The problem with Kaun is that he is getting paid like a star for CSKA. In the Euroleague, teams have to carry a certain number of players from that country. Kaun is one of the best centers in the Euroleague and at the same time checks the box for a native player. Kaun has an NBA game with Kendrick Perkins lateral quickness. Teams will take advantage of his slow feet in the NBA. The Cavaliers don't want to pay him like a third bigman if he cannot handle big minutes.

I dont think Blatt likes Macvan. Just went to the guy's web site. His goal is to win the Euro league and he just got married. Dont think that is the cards.

Never said he would, just saying I'd rather have him than Kaun.

I actually thought coach Blatt will sign him for this season, but I guess he didn't want to bring too much euro style to the Cavs at least not right away. He is great for some time now considered one of the best centers in Europe. The other guy I thought Blatt will go after is sergio rodriguez as a backup for kyrie, and another interesting name is nando de colo.

Rather bring Macvan over

I've seen both of them play a lot (as I watch Euroball), Macvan is nowhere near Kaun's ability.
Specifically their BBall IQ is miles apart.

Kaun is a really good player. I think he would be a perfect fit and a great backup.

By the way Macvan is crap...
He is not big teams material...

I watched Russia closely in the Olympics to get a feel for what he can bring to the NBA. He struck me as a Mason Plumlee type player with weaker rebounding. He has size and reach you can't teach and he finishes well inside about 8 feet from the rim. His jump shot is a little flat and he has more of a push shot than a natural shooter's form. He is physical and doesn't shy away from contact. We agree on his hoops IQ, especially on the defensive end and setting screen and rolls. I'd happily take him over Perkins. The issue is his price tag. He would have to leave money on the table to come play for the Cavaliers.

Agree with you completely.
He is a good defender as in he reads the play 2 or 3 steps forward.
I think he would just fit our system very well right now, and what Blatt is trying to do. And his experience working with Blatt is a huge advantage, as we've seen with Moz.

Were not trading Andy as long as LeBron is here. Unless if Andy retires of course.
Andy can do very little else for this team..he gets hurt every year and the injury he just had will take more out of him than the others..

I have not watched the games, but Milan has been having a career season this year, admittedly though he's not been playing any euroleague games, only euro-cup

Macvan would face the same money and playing time issues as Kaun would coming to the Cavaliers next season, but he's got the additional issue of having a rocky relationship with Blatt back in 2011, so there's extra problems there.

There's also a presumption that he's going to recover sufficiently from the Achilles injury.

He's older and if he loses that his spring he'll be nominal. However with Moz he should have a reduced role.

Would love to add another viable big that can provide options.

The older you are the harder that injury is to recover sufficiently. And even if he would , he's hurt some other part of his body..if you notice , his injuries are becoming more focused on his legs.
I'd rather aquire another PF/C who is more athletic and can score.
