LeBron would be ridiculously stupid to think that way. We will not win 60+ plus games back to back with mediocre talent. It is only the media that makes up crap like that.

And none of the teams that are after Lebron won anywhere close to that many games.

If Cavs can add one piece to the puzzle, Lebron has to look at back-to-back 60 win seasons, great owner, and a town that he loves as plenty of enough reason to re-sign.

I know I sound bias saying this, I would never trust Paxson and the moron Reinsdorf enough to play for them for the next 3-6 years. These two have a history of being inadequate at what they do.

If I was Lebron, I'd seriously consider New Jersey before Chicago. I don't care what team the Bulls put together, these two idiots could be tearing it apart in a year.

I'm sure Lebron has not forgot that Reinsdorf got sick of spending money on Jordan's 98 Bulls team, and decided to tear that apart.

Apparently the Cavaliers aren't too enamored with Scott, as he hasn't gotten a job offer. Of course, it could also be that they know he's waiting on the Lakers job. I would be very surprised if the Cavaliers don't offer the job to Shaw. He's only the second guy that has come to Cleveland, that we know of.

Scott not waiting on Jackson, LeBron

Byron Scott isn’t waiting on Phil Jackson to decide whether he’ll return to coach the Los Angeles Lakers. Nor is Scott waiting on LeBron James(notes) to decide whether he’ll return to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In a phone conversation with Yahoo! Sports, Scott made clear he’s interesting in coaching the Cavaliers, regardless of whether James returns – and regardless of whether the Lakers’ coaching job eventually becomes open. The only thing Scott is waiting on, he said, is an offer from the Cavs.

Scott has twice interviewed with the Cavaliers and has had several phone conversations with team officials, including what he described as a “great” talk with general manager Chris Grant on Sunday. Scott made clear to the Cavs that neither Jackson’s nor James’ decisions have any impact on his interest in coaching Cleveland.

The Cavs were expected to interview Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw on Monday. Scott said he has not been offered the job, and it’s his understanding the Cavs hope to make a decision by Thursday’s start of free agency.

“I’m not sitting and waiting on Phil Jackson,” Scott said. “That ain’t me. I’m not waiting on anybody.”

Scott is hopeful James will return to the Cavaliers. He hasn’t spoken directly to James, but has talked to people in his camp, who say there’s a “50-50” chance James re-signs with Cleveland.

“He’s a loyal guy,” Scott said. “He wants to win.”

Without James, the Cavaliers would instantly transform from a title contending team to a rebuilding franchise. Scott isn’t fearful of that possibility because he’s been in similar situations coaching the New Jersey Nets and New Orleans Hornets.

“I would coach there without LeBron,” Scott said. “But they got a good shot at getting him back. Without him, they would probably go from 60 wins to 30 wins. But [without James], it’s still a better job than when I first started in New Jersey and it’s still a better job than when I first started in New Orleans.”

Scott took the Nets to back-to-back NBA Finals appearances from 2002-03 and was the league’s Coach of the Year in 2008 while with the Hornets. He had a 352-355 record in parts of 10 seasons with the Nets and Hornets.

I rather have Shaw too, but I'm not that down on Scott. I honestly thought out of all the head coaches (realistic ones) he was my top choice, and the best one out there by far. So I wouldn't completely hang my hat if we got him.

Shaw really intrigues me, but he also has never coached in the NBA. Meaning we don't got much to go on with him.

Wow! I like the Byron Scott article. Perfect timing as well. For the first time this offseason the Cavaliers might be at an advantageous position. The Cavaliers have a guy that has clearly stated he will take the job regardless of Phil Jackson's or LeBron's decision. That puts a lot of pressure on Brian Shaw assuming the Cavs make him an offer. We could have a situation where these 2 candidates will have to fight it out in order to be our next head coach. That's a good situation for us to be in. Rather than choosing from the leftovers which is usually the case with us, we have a choice of two great candidates. Let the best man win because either way I would welcome either candidate.

One of the big things to come out over the past couple of weeks is how hands off he is. He's so hands off that while the Nets were in LA for the finals when he was coaching them, he skipped practice to go golfing with friends. :chuckles:

Byron Scott's career winning % is under .500

Everywhere he has gone, his players stopped playing for him within 5 years.

His offense is non-existent and his pace is slow and plodding. He has been blessed with Kidd and Paul.

He is the worst game adjuster in the NBA, even worse than Brown. It's been well reported that Scott does not watch game film.

And in case you want to know why I fully endorse Brian Shaw:

He runs the triangle. He has been coaching it for a while and knows the ins and outs of the triangle.

He is a former player. Someone that LeBron could respect, unlike Mike Brown.

He has been under the best coach in modern NBA history. Not much of a pedigree question about him.
