So Long, Mo Gotti Williams

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sports media just absolutely fucking sucks. @AZ_

I'd almost guarantee Mo isn't happy that he lost minutes. He probably understands that Kyrie is a better player than him given that Kyrie is better than 90% of the league. He has noone to blame but himself for not playing enough defense to steal minutes from Delly and get himself into the SG role in small ball situations.

But with that said, his over-arching point is a fair one...fucking ask the guy. Don't make him defend himself on stupid twitter.

Ask him if he was considered late. Ask how he feels about losing minutes. Hell, ask why he won't play defense! But I just think it's absolute bullshit that it's come to be accepted that "journalists" report this kind of stuff without making any attempt to talk to the players.

Mo might have a bad attitude about the whole thing. At least try to find out from probing or even just ask the guy straight up.

I respect the heck out McMenamin, but man. Got two stories wrong. The Kyrie one and now this one.

Could be a misunderstanding by McMenamin when he did that story.

Waiters and Shumpert vs. Haynes last year, now Mo vs. McMenamin.

you could see everyone getting up cheering and supporting their teammates, Mo Williams was just sitting there looking depressed as hell, so I guess the reporter just looked at that and assumed that Williams is not happy, which is understandable.

and do you really expect the reporter to ask Williams if hes unhappy before he writes it? like whats Mo gonna say? "Yea I'm fucking pissed! I thought I was going to back up Kyrie, but this dude they call 'Outback Jesus' took my job, and now I'm getting god damn DNP's?!"

I actually saw this coming at the start of the season, I think Mo thought he was coming here to take the #2 point guard job to be the primary back up to Kyrie, he probably thought that hes way better then Delly, Delly is extremely underrated around the league and only cavs fans who watch him play all the time know what he brings and how good he is...

but Lo and behold, Delly had a fantastic start to the season and has improved significantly, esp offensively.
Mo on the other hand only likes to play one side of the floor, kills ours offensive ball movement and flow, and just chucks the same shot over and over again

I think the sheer inconsistency of Blatt's rotations has got to be a little trying for players too.

He hasn't had the same personnel available consistently to develop consistent rotations. Moz was hurt, Shump was out, JR missed time, and obviously KI was out again. All are guys who get major rotation minutes when healthy.

Mo was addressing Feldman, though.

Mo is a good guy though. Glad to see his response. I see him as a team guy who will stay ready to go when he is needed and will enjoy the ride even if he would like a little more PT.

McMenamin wrote the piece on Mo in his article about Mo being late to tipoff and such if I remember correctly.

Another DNP against the Wizards and Kyrie playing out of his skin...expect some more articles about Mo...Blatt goes with those he can trust, and apparently Mo is not one of them...

Mo needs to sit, be a team player, do the right things when called upon, enjoy the $2 mill and get to wear a ring...beats working for a living

admire Williams for being himself and not some non authentic cheerleader. as for all players, the nba season is a marathon and many dips and curves to come

At least two of Kyrie, JR, Shump and Delly will miss a few games at the same time this year.

Mo will get minutes.

Looks as if Mo is in NY to see a hand specialist today with Steve Spiro. Hopefully it's nothing too serious. I think he will still be needed this season. (via Snapchat and Instagram)

Maybe mo showing up late was part of the prelude to blatt being fired
