So Long, Mo Gotti Williams

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ehh, if it's an end of game situation where you know they have to foul, I think the Cavs will make sure they have Kyrie or Mo(or both) on the floor to get the ball on inbound. LeBron will only be taking clutch FT's that he earns by attacking the basket and getting fouled or getting fouled shooting somehow.

I'd think that if they're in a late game situation and they know the opposing team needs to foul, Blatt might have in Kyrie, Mo, and Delly. Those three (in addition to Love) would give the Cavs four good FT shooters on the court. LeBron is the perfect in-bounder in that situation. If he accepts that role, that's another story.

Ugh. The last thing we need right now is a disgruntled attitude Mo Williams.

With dellys improvement this year if he gets too much of a headache they can probably get away with cutting him. I like the guy because he was a voice for the fans and loved the city, but his lack of D together with a poor attitude makes him expendible

Mo will be fine. That article alluded to him being upset without any concrete evidence to back it up.

As far as cutting him for his attitude goes, Williams is still incredibly valuable to this team, assuming he accepts less minutes. I still have major doubts regarding health in the future and if Irving or Shump went down for an extended time, Williams will be called upon to provide scoring.

His D is absolutely atrocious. That coupled with Delly's elevated play has led to a lack of minutes. With that said, it's a long season and I'm willing to bet Mo will put his signature on some wins this season. He's still an excellent scorer that spaces the floor and provides playmaking ability. At full health, this team is absolutely stacked and we are seeing the bi-product of that; dwindling minutes for the likes of Mo, AV, and R-Jeff. hopefully he stays a pro about it. He hasn't shown anything, aside from some speculative heresay in this article, that would lead to problems down the road.

I don't know, I would like to see Blatt find a steady 10-15 minutes or so for both Mo and Cunningham. That should be possible with a few minutes sliced off of other's playing time. The regular season should be about improving your players and getting them all used to playing together in pressure situations, which means you don't always play your best players their max minutes -- again, as I always say around here, look at how the Spurs do it. Every year they go 13 deep with players averaging at least 10 MPG. It's clearly a deliberate strategy, and it pays off in the playoffs as they can go to their bench with confidence. (I think it's may also contribute to their amazing run of health during the playoffs over the last decade or so).

I think the sheer inconsistency of Blatt's rotations has got to be a little trying for players too.

Totally agreed with this. Mo is a guy like David Lee was for the Warriors. If we face a team with a bad defensive backup PG, I expect Mo to get some important minutes. A team like Miami whose backup PG, Beno Udrih, is atrocious on defense. That's a matchup where Mo could be a critical advantage.

On top of that, even if a situation like that does not occur, Mo is great insurance to have. Guys like him, James Jones, and RJ are really not guaranteed any playing time in the playoffs. But Mo can create his own shot, and in case of an injury to Kyrie, Bron, or Love, his offense will be valuable when our stars are resting. Now, this injury may not happen, but if it did we'd be in trouble. With the roster as it currently stands, that is less of a problem, precisely because of guys like Mo and RJ.

The Magic are also a terrible match-up for Williams. Oladipo and Elfrid-Payton both dwarf Mo and are both incredibly athletic.

Williams still gets minutes, the leash is just much shorter with a healthy Shumpert. If his shot isn't falling, he literally has no way of contributing to wins, aside from being a floor spacer. The way Shumpert's corner 3 has been falling lately only exacerbates that fact.

Why does Payton want to look like Buckwheat?

I feel like he's race-baiting and trying to get some old white announcer fired.

(Hopefully it's Heinsohn)

"Dan Feldman there are to many positive things going on our team for you to write about than searching for a story about me. A story that you have wrote from assuming how I'm feeling or thinking without even consulting with me.

Being that I'm not playing, I get my extra work in for 45 min after shootaround when everyone has left to get prepared for the game. You are more than welcomed to come to shootaround and see for yourself so you shouldn't have to assume anymore.

With that being said, I wasn't late.

There is no particular time we have been at the arena. My routine has just changed that's all.

Now to answer the not cheering thing, that's funny. I've been in this league 13yrs and I'm not sure how long you have been covering the NBA, but anybody that knows me knows I show no emotion whatsoever. I was the same way when I was starting and playing 30 min.

I help my teammates.
Im 33 yrs old not 23.

Thanks for listening."

I love that response from Mo, but emotionless? Mo, we all remember you breaking into tears when LeBron hit that shot in the conference finals.
