Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

For all the games to come back they choose a winnable won against a team we need to lose to when nobody will watch because the NCAA tournament is on? Not good tank management Kyrie.

Somebody posted a couple of the easy match-ups remaining and there were quite a few. As much as i like to be able to watch Kyrie finally play , with the spots between 3rd and 8th being close i just hope this doesn't turn out bad for us.

Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

With the starting lineup hampered by the return of Kyrie Irving, it's good to see the bench stepping up and conceding a pair of big 3's to start the 2nd.

EDIT: Statement loss right there, as we held the Hornets to their most points in over 2 months. Even with our best player in the lineup, we can go out and tank just as strong as ever. Just 10 more games until we can cash in these losses for some sweet, sweet ping pong balls. Let's keep 'er rollin.

That was a tough loss... the 5th worst record (at worst) is pretty much a lock now, I cant imagine us winning many of those 10 games left
Lets see what the Pistons can do right now, still surprised how many wins other lottery teams collected lately...

Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

Kyrie scored 31 and the Cavs lost by 20 to a 26-48 Hornets team. This is not fun.

Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

At the beginning of March, there was some discussion about how the Cavs would do. Some suggested they might play as badly as 4-10. Well, in the end they went 2-12.

Down to 10 games to go in April.

Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

There was nothing good about this game if you're a Cavs fan hoping this team to improve. I know you can't overreact too much over one game, but that was pretty pathetic display of basketball tonight. It made me feel we only have two quality players on the floor(Kyrie and Tristan, and Waiters out), and that doesn't make me feel real good.

They've regressed badly. You want to see them playing their best basketball, with something positive heading into next season.

Hey, if we have to keep the tanking chatter out of the other threads, the least you guys can do is take your anti-tanking bullshit elsewhere :chuckles:

Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

Honestly I dont understand how a cavs fan gets frustrated over losses. I rejoiced when i tuned in today and saw us down 15!! We will be better next year with andy back. Dint forget another offseason fir our young guys and a solid draft pick!!!

Because losing is for losers. Do you want this team to ever be good? Or do you want to be the Sacramento Kings, and be in the lottery every single season. I don't freaking care if people want us to have a high lottery pick. But to think games like tonight is good, I really don't get that at all. So what, we're going to get one high lottery pick, and some guy in the late teens. Cavs need to start learning to play as a unit, collectively, on both ends of the floor before taking the next step. One, or two guys is not going to fix the problems they currently have.

It's not just about talent. Sure, its always welcomed, but they need to learn to play as a team, not a bunch of individuals.

They have absolutely zero identity as a team defensively. None. Zero. It's a joke. The way the Cavs played defense tonight, they're not going to win more than 20 games a season with that kind of matador effort.

Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

Agreed they have a great deal of problems. I wont be at all excited for losses next year. This year however is far far gone so i like most of the people in this thread would like to make the most of the injuries we have sustained. I believe most of us here are of the opinion that next year our expectations are going to be quite a great deal higher next year. We will have had 3 years of tanking.... kyrie and tt will both be in their third year. Hopefully Andy stays healthy. If he can play anywhere near the level he was playing at this year my expectations are nothing lower than the 6th seed in the east next year.

For the next month i want to be as terrible as possible because i know that with the amount of talent we are gathering and another offseason to improve I feel like i cant expect anything less than beginning to gain playoff experience in the coming years! This is the last year i believe any of us want to get the highest pick possible.

Even with Andy, Kyrie, Dion and TT healthy, another top 5 pick and some free agents, I wouldn't be shocked if we closely fail to reach the playoffs next season. Obviously that would be a big disappointment, but there are still too many question marks, especially on the defensive end, to be very confident about this team next season. Imo, the expectation of winning about 20 games more for reaching the 6th seed is too high.
If we make the playoffs at all, then we'll be an 8th seed at best.

Dude, just a question: do you stay up until like 4 am just to watch the games?

I think with a core of Andy, TT, Dion, Kyrie, Ellington, Livingston, Gee and Zeller, if we add some guy who can shoot/defend the 3 and a shot-blocking center we can make a serious run for the 5th~~6th seed. The biggest problem, like you mentioned, is indeed the defensive end. Scott still has to show he can coach something that resembles a defense.

Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

The Cavs are on auto-pilot. We can't be out tanked. Time for the Pistons and Suns to give up.

Re: Tankapalooza - Home Stretch Edition!

Because losing is for losers

And these guys ARE losers

Walton 18 min, -18
Speights 21 min, -11
Gibson 17 min, -17
Miles 19 min, -9
(Casspi 9 min, -12)

They aren't going to be with the team next year. I'm not concerned.
