Absolutely not! I hate that kind of scapegoat. Peyton Manning was tearing them good, but it is Peyton Manning. I hate it when Romo fans, or apologists want to every excuse out there to justify him losing. I'm not saying you're one, but please. He threw 500 yard, 5 td's. He was having his WAY with that defense. Peyton scores, he's given the ball, and asked to do what great QB's are suppose to do. Win the game. Can I remind, you he threw for 500 yards.
What does he do? He throws a pick! Not to get off topic and derail the thread. But he's an utter joke. I don't know how this guy can throw for 500 yards in the same game, then is asked to win the game, and can't, then its suddenly the defenses fault.
I'm not sure if you notice, there's not much defense in the NFL anymore.
Romo Had a tremendous game. He also threw a pick. lets not forget it was a pick that allowed Dallas back in the game.
Romo gave the Cowboys a chance to win a game that many thought they wouldnt have achance against a juggernaut that hadnt been challenged at all in 4 previous games with a quarterback that is playing his best football.
This wasnt an underdog going tit for tat with a great team playing a poor stretch. Denver was firing on all cylinders.
Denvers defense was getting pressure on Dallas the whole game romo was frequently force to move around the pocket.
Ultimately though Romo and his receivers took the team as far as they could and came up short. Id much rather watch such a great quarterback dual then see a Dallas team with no answer to Denvers game in and game out consistent offensive output.
That was Romo's 2nd interception for the year and it came at a bad time but nothing I havent seen peyton Manning, Steve Young or any other great quarterback do at the end of the game.
The Cowboys won 8 games last season. 5 of them were from Romo performing in the clutch. They had just as many losses from failing to establish a running game in the 2nd half with multi score leads.
That interception was a 2nd and 16 that came immediately after a sack.
It may be a passers league but it still takes teamwork for a team to win.
Dallas will bounce back. They still have alot of areas to improve to make a playoff run. Quarterbacking isnt one of them.
Romo only has a few years left in the tank. regardless of whats happens with the Cowboys going forward I will be sad to see him go when he retires just like i was when Danny White retired.
The Cowboys would of been completely unwatchable without him.
