The Daily Dame

Now we’re going to get an insubordinate Dame ?

Dame is channeling Ben Simmons, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

I hope Portland handles this the way Philly and Brooklyn handled Simmons and Irving. Make the best deal for your team regardless of what the player wants.

If I'm a GM of another team I wouldn't take this transparent amateurish PR campaign seriously. Dame is not going to sit out for three years.

Now we’re going to get an insubordinate Dame ?

Dame’s reps talking to other GMs:

Blazers just need to do what the Nets did with KD and tel him they aren’t trading him until they get a reasonable package. The decision to play or sit will be left up to him.

Blazers should say f it. Stay home. We are tanking anyway. Here is your check. Give them the Vince Carter

Lillard os probably my least favorite NBA player. The “I’m so loyal” schtick always seemed fake to me. He stayed with Portland because they could pay him the most money and now he’s showing his true colors.

As someone who lives in Portland and interacts with a lot of Blazers fans, I have to disagree with this sentiment to a degree. The love this fan base has for Dame is very real and he was loyal to the city for most of his career during a period in the NBA where stars leaving for super teams became the norm.

However, that love is fading fast around here. Most fans I know aren’t even mad that he’s requesting a trade…they get it and know they aren’t going to contend and want Dame to have that chance. To demand a trade AND try to dictate where you go without a no trade clause while your agent makes PR rounds lowering your trade value while Dame posts cryptic victim shit on Twitter? The fans feel like that’s a low blow to a city that always loved Dame whether they won or lost.

We all have our feeling about Bron, but at least he used Free Agency to makes his moves and didn’t force the franchise into a low value trade.

First and foremost— I’m sorry to read that. Thoughts & Prayers !

That being said, I can see where the fan base still has love for this douchenozzle. A generation or so ago that area had nothing but love for Drexler when they sent him to Houston and was genuinely happy for him winning a title… Obviously he accomplished way more than Dame there— but the love the fans had was real…

But his passive aggressive style with this is just horrendous… For whatever reason this dude goes unscathed…. Making the top 75 players of all time ? FOR WHAT ? tapping his wrist to signal Dame Time ?

He’s never lead his team anywhere, he has 1 individual award that he won 10 years ago and now he does this ?

Send him to the Charlotte Hornets so he can do his Kemba Walker act…

Genuine question, as I've never heard it to *this* degree, but how is an agent telling teams *not* to trade for their client not considered tampering?

Also, if I'm Portland, I tell Dame that he's getting traded to the team that makes the best offer. If he wants it to be Miami, have his agent tell Miami to meet the demand (either in a 1-on-1, or multi-team trade). If Miami doesn't, and no other team meets the requirements, Dame stays on the Blazers roster. If he pouts, or wants to stay home, he gets fined. Pretty simple.

Mainly because an agent is free to talk to any team they want. Tampering is other teams talking to your players.

Unethical us fuck in my opinion, just not tampering.

Dame and his agent really overplayed their hand here. They fucked around and waited until after free agency had already started to ask for a trade thinking it was going to be simple to get him to Miami.

Still assuming they get something done before the season, but it’s going to open up the door for another team to slide in and take him away from Miami.
