The Darko Trade Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Jaric/Milicic/1st rounder

This team is playing the best ball they ever played, and Heath is just firing away rounds of trade ammunition like it's nobodies business...

lol...:chuckles:

I do want Darko, i would like to figure a way though for Sasha to be the player who gets us Darko. He might end up a bust, but costing us sasha and filler doesnt seem like to much imo.

the Memphis Commercial Appeal

Milicic said he might return to Europe after his contract expires in 2010. He said he is unhappy with the way his career has gone in the NBA, especially the fact that he has been cast as a defensive specialist with his offense ignored. His role has been further diminished this season with the emergence of Marc Gasol and Darrell Arthur, and he has averaged just 17 minutes a game."

Can someone explain to me why would want this piece of crap. I would rather have Kwame. Wow, never thought I would say that.

Easy enough.

In 20 minutes a game, he blocks 2 shots and grabs 6 boards. He is 23, 7'0 and he has never been around a center that can teach him the game (Rasheed never helped him, because he didnt like him).

In Cleveland, he'd be asked to back-up Z...Z would try and teach him how to play the position properly, and since they are both international players, Darko would be a lot more likely to listen.

Darko would be a great pick-up...and under-rated. He may even become a legit center under Zydrunas'. Definitely worth whatever small price we'd pay for him.

I like DM. He would be a great young big for depth. He is a very good shot blocker which is something I like. He would possibly flourish here with his fellow 2003 draftees.

Here's my try at a Darko trade:

Pavs
Jackson
Jawad Williams
09 2nd

for

Darko
Ross

Mem gets Pavs who can provide some 3 pt shooting and defense to them along with Darnell who is a decent big man prospect and has already shown some good signs this year. They also get a 2nd round pick (chicago's i believe is the one we have- so it'll be better than what ours would have been)

We get darko without giving up Wally or a 1st (leaving the option of trading him open). He'll provide some big man depth to our aging frontline and could possibly turn around his career under big z and want to stay in the NBA past 2010.

Mem still might want more.. but that's what i'd be willing to give them. also to note, is this trade can't be done til dec 26th because of ross.

LOL

Memphis has ONE goal: dump salary.

Darko is of no value to them. He barely plays. GM Wallace had to plead to have ownership let him sign Ross, who makes 800k.

One thing that Memphis will do: If they see you want someone, they will (like any GM) try to make it as if their player is worth more than he is. Memphis' goal will not be to get a 2nd rounder from us... they will be interested in us taking Jaric or Buckner off their hands.

My guess is: Warrik, Buckner & Darko + 2nd round pick

for : Szczerbiak & Jackson

Buckner has gotten worse and worse as a shooter, but he is a good wing-defender, which is why he'll be a good match-up player to back-up Sasha when he is off. Warrick in a non-factor on defense, which is why he dont play much, but he is instant offense off the bench. Darko has been a bust, and doesnt play hardly any in Memphis. He'd have a shot at ressurecting his career here in Cleveland. This doesn't help the Cavs at the two a whole lot, as Buckner is only 6'4...but plays much bigger, and crashes the boards well. He is very strong and always in shape. We hate losing Jackson's potential, but with Wright, JJ, Darko and Warrick,( in addition to Z, Wallace and Andy) we have a good front-line, that goes deep. The 2nd round pick makes things easier on us, and Memphis is all too willing to part with it, as they have 3, and dont want to spend the money it'll take to sign anymore players than they have to this summer.

I would like to actually get something for wally not just trash

Darko isn't worth taking a contract past 2010. Every GM knows that. Thus, we won't take Jaric or Buckner. Didn't know about Ross though.

4 pages and no one suggested Snow for Milicic or Snow & Wright for Milicic.

GMs like simple deals. NBA trades only get "Heathized" when they cant agree on compensation and/or they have to make the numbers work under the CBA.

Snow will save us 11 mill if we keep him, in essense if we trade snow for darko you are paying him 18 million this year. That is an insane amount for darko. No way do I do this inless memphis is crazy enough to give us a 1st round pic too. Even then I hesitate, and no way memphis gives up a pick. There is a reason alot of us never brought up snow.

Ugh. Darko blows. We shouldn't even think about bringing him here.

Darko is a major head case, why in the world would you want this guy. Last but not least he sucks bad which is why he is currently tied to the bench.
