The decline of JJ Hickson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Despite popular belief, there is actually nothing wrong with using the word "rigors." As in, not every player is ready to handle the rigors of the NBA.

Isnt that a reality show on VH1?

another mediocre athletic PF prospect given away

You watch, someday one of the ESPN shills will make a comment about the Cavs terrible draft pick, JJ Hickson....

Thanks Mr. Gilbert... I was really getting sick of explaining that one over and over around here.

We really sold high on this guy. Wow I can't believe that selling high on someone got us Casspi and an incredibly protected pick.

Warriors Expected to Sign J.J. Hickson

The Golden State Warriors have emerged as the frontrunner to sign J.J. Hickson after he clears waivers, according to sources close to the situation. Hickson was waived by the Sacramento Kings on Monday afternoon.

Hickson will clear waivers in 48 hours and league sources expect him to sign with Golden State.

The 23-year-old played just 35 games for the Kings before the two sides agreed to a buyout. He has averaged 8.5 points and 5.6 rebounds throughout the course of his four-year career.

The Warriors currently have two open roster spots and could finalize a deal with Hickson as early as Wednesday evening.

So they'd only be signing him for the rest of this year... right?

Remember when Hickson was so untouchable we were looking for 2 firsts from him...LOL

I dont give #6 much credit these days, but his ability to make puds like Hickson, Wally, Pavlovic, etc look like serviceable NBA players will be stuff of lore someday... as will his inability to be the #1 option when paired with other stars, but I digress.

Can somebody please let me know what the conditions on the pick are? My recollection is that if the Kings fail to make the playoffs over the next several years that the Cavs never get the pick. Is that accurate?

Not accurate. This year is the only year that requires the Kings to make the playoffs. Exact conditions are as follow...

http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed

Sacramento's own 2012 first round draft pick to Cleveland (top-14 protected in the 2012 Draft, top-13 protected in 2013, top-12 protected in 2014, top-10 protected in 2015, top-10 protected in 2016 and top-10 protected in the 2017 Draft) If Cleveland has not received a first round pick from Sacramento by 2017, then Sacramento shall convey their own 2017 2nd round draft pick to Cleveland provided it is within the top-55 picks. If it is not, then Sacramento's obligation to Cleveland shall be extinguished. (Cleveland-Sacramento, 6/30/2011)

Hickson is better than Erden and Hollins. Sign him!
