The decline of JJ Hickson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hickson is better than Erden and Hollins. Sign him!

No thanks. We have 4 draft picks coming in next year to replace them. Don't need JJ around here mucking things up.

Where's he supposed to go? He better not sign with Miami.

F it. He's only 23 and played decent Center for us at times. Maybe this has all humbled him and he's ready to see it Byron's way.

I hope the Cavs sign him back. For real.

He'd love for it to happen, but ...doubt it. Wouldn't suprise me if Lebron James tries to get Miami to get him signed, because Lebron is one guy that actually took JJ under his wing and helped him. The Sacramento situation was the absolute worst case scenario situation for JJ to have gone to. Everything about that whole situation there, just fed into and fostered every negative aspect of JJ's mindset. I felt horrible when he went to that situation with the head coach they had in place there, I knew it would just crush whatever positive direction he may have had going in his career. It did. Hopefully, he can land in a situation where someone knows him, knows what structure he needs around him ..and he can get his career back on course. He does have something to offer, and could be a great acquisition if he does land in a place that is right for him. Honestly, if he ends up in Miami, with the Heat and Lebron ...that type highly disciplined and rigid..winning environment (along with Lebron) could be EXACTLY what he needs and he could be a huge huge steal for them..

I almost think it's worth adding JJ to the Cavs just so he doesn't go to Miami.

disagree, grant did the right thing in trading him

JJ would have inhibited the development of TT if still here

hope he lands in Boston rather than Miami

don't know if its been posted, but hoopsworld is reporting that he will most likely sign with the warriors.

That will garuntee they keep their pick this year then!

Was JJ going to carry them to the playoffs?...

sorry i meant it was good for GS. they need to get a top7 pick to keep it if memory serves, hence why they are now tanking hard, see the monta trade

The fact that people still believe this drives me fucking insane.

You're exactly right. It was Riley who prevented the Amare trade. He was the one who saw that this trade could foil the collusion (aka The Decision), so he was constantly in Kerr's ear making up lies and convincing him that he could come up with a better trade package than the Cavs.

Never heard that. I only heard it was Kerr not us. You have a link to that?

If the Golden State rumor is true, might not be a bad place for JJ. He should get all the backup pf minutes and with Bogut always hurt, most of the backup center minutes. With the way they play, he should be able to do well there. Maybe keep himself in the nba on an ok contract.

I don't have a link, but I think it was an article in the PD back after The Decision was made. It's more of a conspiracy theorist article, but it brought up some very good points, such as:

- The only other team the Cavs were competing against when trying to trade for Amare was the Heat. And even though the Heat did not have as good of a trade package as the Cavs, Riley was constantly in Kerr's ear trying to convince him to give Riley more time because he could come up with a better package than the Cavs. And obviously, that never happened.
- Riley convincing James that he should change his number to 6, since Miami had already retired 23.
- When Lebron and Maverick were inviting all of the teams he was courting in the offseason to make their pitch, Riley was the only person who was given the chance to sit down and talk with Maverick the night before the Heat were scheduled to talk with Lebron's group. The PD article actually had a big picture of Riley and Maverick sitting in the lobby of the IMG building talking on that night.

It was a pretty interesting article. I'm trying to find it, and if I do I'll post it.

Until JJ shows any actual awareness on defense, the only thing he'll be stealing is points from his own team.
