The game tonight was ridiculous

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lebron looked equally as bad as damon on defense.

Everyone's quick to turn a blind eye about lebrons defense b/c he puts up offensive numbers. but if damon was making 3's consistently we would hardly hear much complaining.

I'd much rather deal for the likes of a PG like a Maurice Williams, or a Mike James, a PG who is very energinic, plays good defense and can hit the 3 when open.

yeah I like Maurice williams as well. He can penetrate, shoot mid range and long range. He's developing nicely. I wish we could somehow snag him

Heres a stat.

Our record vs the knicks last yr.

1-3

The games we won

1 without Crawford

3 games we lost

Crawford avr 24pt 6ast

Crawford is a Cav killer, What is really sad is that he could have been on our team instead of being traded away. I'm not saying i would like him on the cavs, but i also think it will be better than him killing us.

I was thinking this exact same thing. when I saw crawford warming up, I knew it was going to be trouble. I was hoping his ankle injury would keep him out. Crawford always seems to burn us.

That is probably true but he isn't. If he was hitting we probably would have won. You have to bring SOMTHING to the team.

Lebron's defense is not great but it is NOWHERE nears as bad as Jones. Jones is making McGinness look like Gary Payton. I mean he might as well not even be there.

Lebron played 46 minutes and looked (and played) winded in the 4th. I wonder if all the minutes for the last 6 weeks are catching up with him. Once he dies out, the rest of the team sort of follows him. I think this is why the ball stops moving.

I agree. If he was hitting we would have won. when we were playing well he was averaging 2 or 3 or 4 threes a game, thats 6-12 points, would have made it much more competitive. think about it... Also...isn't it weird, we start of 9-2, go 2-7, then 9-2 again, and now we'll probably go 2-7 if were lucky with this road trip then indy at home... cavs need to find a way to win without larry.

Having a player like Damon at the two guard will mean Snow will be forced to defend Kobe tomorrow. This should not continually be the case. Jones is causing mismatches with his mediocre defensive efforts, which is only now compounded by his misfiring on offense.

Don't make me CRY!

We have to have some "creative" coaching from Coach Brown. Using some different strategies over this road trip. Especially on D.

How about starting

Wilks
Snow
LBJ
DG
Z

Let Snow, Newble, and Jackson use their 18 fouls to slap KB around. Those 3, if playing hard D won't STOP KB, but they will disrupt his flow. Disrupt his game as much as possible. Jones and Wilks can spell each other. Neither is going to bring much, regardless of who they "D-up". LBJ is already playing the whole game anyhow, he could still be spelled slightly. Let DG, Z, Marshall, and Henderson cover the posts with rotation. It seems the key to this game is KB and Odom. If we use the bulk of our available fouls defending these guys we could steal a win.

There are very few who can defend Kobe and niether snow or Jones will slow him down. I would like to see Lebron take him on though, just to see how he does. On the other side of the ball though, I don't think the Lakers have an answer for the King.

If Smush Parker comes in and destroys Damon Jones, then Coach Brown MUST make changes. I'll live with starting Damon again tomorrow, but results or at least efforts must start to show through.

Mike James plays defense....Mo Williams does not...

Starting D. Jones and Snow against a backcourt of Parker and Kobe seems like a disaster waiting to happen to me.

So with this backcourt if Lebron checks Kobe then Snow ends up on Odom: Ughh, don't like this at all.

Kobe has an excellent post game and while Snow is a very good post defender for a guard I don't he can in anyway jump with Kobe.

6/28 from the 3 point line. That is what killed us.

Im sure most of them were wide open... that doesn't help, if you're less than 50% from open looks, which probably was the case.

Can't execute.. keep pounding 3's? That's not the plan to go. Unless it is a good shot, in the flow, then it is acceptable. But if you're in a tight game, you always attack the basket and see what happens from there. If you run into a triple team with a shooter open, pass to that shooter. Much better than jacking up a shot.

With everyone shooting poorly... it seems like a repeat of last year. LeBron wants a 3 in the possession, but trusts nobody but himself and jacks it up. I think, that if people are hitting their shots, then LeBron attacks the basket knowing he has options... If not, then off balance shots, here we come. But damn... just attack the basket and put up points, get to the free throw line. Lead that offense by example.

Z in foul trouble didn't help.
Poor defense didn't help.

Awful. Blame DJ all you want, but as LJ4MVP says, he's the Steve Kerr of this team. Not the Reggie Miller. It seems Cleveland fans demand that every player be an All-star on every given night.

we lost because we only score 12 points in the final period. i'm not sure that we would have scored more points if damon jones had played better defense.

i'm sure that we can easily acquire either mike james from toronto or maurice williams from milwauke. those teams are going nowhere and will probably give us those players for a second round draft pick.
