i'm sure that we can easily acquire either mike james from toronto or maurice williams from milwauke. those teams are going nowhere and will probably give us those players for a second round draft pick.
The Bucks are the 7th seed in the east, and are having difficulties with an injured Ford. Once he is fully back, they will be back to willing a good percentage.
Toronto is 11-9 since starting the season 1-15. They are only 5 1/2 games back from the last playoff spot in the east.
Neither is giving up their point guard, especially not to the Cavs. Our best shot at gettign a decent PG is by dealing Gooden. But, alas, that is unlikely to happen. Ferry is going with a mantra of patience. One that, IMO, is correct. We all knew, or should have known, that there would be a period of the season like this....and there will be in the future. Larry Hughes is injury prone. He always has been, and most likely always will be. part of what we were trading in for defense and more well rounded play with Hughes was a dozen or so healthy games with Redd, Allen, and Johnson.
Personally, I want to see the more of Jackson or Pavlovic (if healthy). Luke, from the games I have watched, seems to respond to extended minutes. When h is getting less minutes, he seems to press...and get yanked. When he is allowed minutes he does things that no one on the roster does: Cut to the basket when the ball is in the post; Move without the ball; bring energy.
The other night Jackson brought energy to a loss against houston. They played their best ball (IMO) when he was on the floor. He made mistakes, yes, but he also woke the other players up by hustling. They actually were competive for all 4 minutes he was in the game.
