Their coach is a joke, and freaks out every time Jonas picks up 2 fouls in the first half.

He's a hell of a player, and I'd love to have him here.

One things for sure you can certainly say the Cavs didnt want either one of those guys because they passed on both of them.

It's been reported that the Cavs really did like Valanciunas. They just didn't like his agent jerking them around.

Agreed.

As much as I dislike Mr. Potato Head, Dwayne Casey is about 10x worse.

Dwane Casey chose not to foul despite approximately a 2-second difference between shot and game-clock. Here's the explanation for it:

“We felt like we had five seconds and as soon as we got the rebound (the team was) going to call timeout,” Casey said of why the Raptors fouled so late. “(If Charlotte makes) two free throws, it’s over with anyway “. We felt like we could get one stop and then get a timeout. That’s the way it went down at the end, it should never have gotten to that.”

And as if that wasn't bad enough...
Note that the Bobcats were 17-30 (56%) from the stripe in this game.

That guy is an idiot. Mike Brown is a blessing compared to him.

And yet, neither Toronto and Detroit would swap their bigs for Dion or TT.

And as I've pointed out to Los, which makes it funny he thanked your post, that's a dumb measure to use. That's right, Detroit, already with a roster full of non-shooting big men, wouldn't trade Drummond for Tristan Thompson. Go figure. They also probably wouldn't do it for Dion when they just signed Brandon Jennings to a fairly large contract and drafted KCP this year.

Kind of like we wouldn't trade Tristan Thompson for Kemba Walker. Not because Kemba isn't a better player (don't wanna debate this, making a point), but because we don't need him. Get it?

Jonas has been in a bit of an offensive slump lately. And he couldn't handle neither Pau nor Jefferson on the defensive end, so I'm not really mad about Raps' coach benching him. He has still averaged 8.0rpg in 19.5mpg (that's Drummond-level rebounding) in that last 4 game slump.

I hope he gets hit shit together for tonight's game against the Mavs though.

Ive heard that from a few people as well. Not like Im connected or anything, but it seems to be a common rumor.

Don't get me wrong, on draft night I was pissed, I saw why this kid can be a 10 year dominating talent. However, what I have seen thus far has left me less than impressed. He shows flashes, but due to foul trouble & playing time he hasnt been on the floor as often as one would like.

However, Tristan has not given me a reason to root against him or "wish" that we drafted someone else.
1) He is constantly improving
2) He plays his ass off
3) Not afraid to be vocal with his teammates
4) Puts up similar stats per 36 min.

I have a gut feeling Val will be similar to Derrick Favors. He was a "can't miss prospect" by scout, and his upside was the moon. But even after 3 or 4 years he has only gotten marginally better. Even with extended minutes. With Thompson, he has shown a higher growth rate to make me feel good about where he will be down the road. I can't say the same about others.

Thanks for ranting but ask them to trade straight up for talent and they will laugh at CG. That's my opinion. You're entitled to yours even though I think it's stupid.

The need for a big whether Jonas or Drummond will become accentuated when all these young centers and those coming in start to develop. We will be hard pressed to find that big just like what happened in the Orlando series.

If the Bucks land Embiid, this division could be looking at:

Indy - Hibbert
Milwaukee - Embiid
Detroit - Drummond
Chicago - Noah

Scary stuff.

As far as I know, it was first reported by Chad Ford on a B.S. Report appearance. Chad Ford is a guy who is pretty in the know when it comes to drafts, and this was after the 2011 draft (I think it was in the lead up to the 2012 draft, actually), so teams would have less incentive to lie to him about the previous draft.

It strikes me as the truth. Jonas would have been a good fit here, and I can understand why his agent would have wanted him in Toronto (at the time, they were Team Shitty Euro Players). It was a shitty situation, but at least we came out of it with a good player and not one of the several mediocre to shitty ones that followed Tristan and Jonas in the top ten.

This isnt fantasy league. NBA teams are built to compete. playing armchair gm and trying to bolster your opinion by what someone else would do when you have no evidence to support just weakens your statement tremendously. why do you need some mythical fantasy scenario t o support your views? Jv doesnt make the Cavs a better team. they can get better offensive rebounding from thompsonson and at some point better spacing at range from zeller.

the only person generating laughs is the posters make up opinions of other people to support their views.

He's no more a "hell of a player" than TT and Dion...

Yep, a TT for Drummond deal is a non-starter for reasons that have nothing to do with position. Drummond's trade value is KYRIE (on the RealGM trades and transaction board top trade value vote, Drummond actually got voted in before Irving) Drummond is simply the way more valuable asset than either TT or JV right now for both present production and apparent talent/upside.

If the Cavs want JV, offer us a Bennett/Karasev combo, there may be a better chance than you think of us being interested. The reality is the difference in 'downside' between AB and Jonas is close to meaningless in the big picture. Yes AB's floor is to land out of the NBA and JV's is to be a rotation caliber player. But by their late 20s, lotto picks who turn into 7th-9th men don't really help a team more than if they picked a Thabeet. Half of them have left in free agency by that point or traded for peanuts, the other half end up in the Jason Thompson Rodney Stuckey zone as players who's trade value evaporated once they got paid. The downside of both AB and JV both involves their team getting screwed. Especially considering the probability of JV leaving the NBA because he's journeyman caliber and sometimes when European those guys leave, may be as high as the probability of AB never turning into a rotation player anyways

Again, you sound silly. In what world do you live in where TT and Dion gives us a winning team? So far, we're going on year 3 and we're fighting for the 8th spot in the weakest conference probably in the history of the NBA. How can you sit there and say we're not a better team with Drummond or JV on the team when we haven't been winning? Maybe if Drummond, JV, TT and Dion change teams, everyone will be better but the track record so far is piss poor. You live in the fantasy land where assuming JV and Drummond playing next to Kyrie is not a better team present and in the future.
