The mystery deal discussed lol (take your wild guesses)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I really hope that the Clip fans don't catch wind of this discussion(unlikely, considering the amount of Clips fans that follow closely) because I don't think that it is logical to think that they're going to give up their recent lottery pick and they're only real scoring threat in the post who has size for Zach Randolph. Just don't see it at all. The Clips' front office isn't filled with all NBA execs so it is possible for Ferry to pull this trigger. If he did, it would be unreal because he'd have locked up a 1 and a 5 that are future players for a price that will allow LBJ to resign and we'd be able to keep building.

Ferry is doing a good job in our front office building for a future. These other teams are blowing up to try to get LBJ and then go from there while Ferry is trying to give LBJ a reason to stay that others won't have and that is the framework of a team with some type of chemistry.

Although I agree with you, not sure why you care about the 5 clip fans out their that exist. I dont mind them catching wind of this conversation. Infact, over the years, Their team has done nothing but break wind, so it will make sense if the fans catch some of that wind.

Why would the Clips want Wallace? Big contract with another year to run?...I don't know about the salaries but what about Wally, Pavs and maybe a 1st for Kaman and Crawford with the Knicks getting Wally's expiring contract plus whatever it takes to make the salaries match and Randolph going to the Clips.

Please ready everything before you post, thank you and have a nice day !!

That really doesn't make sense lol....

AV starts and Kaman takes his spot as the first big off the bench. Simple, you get a 26 yr old center who averages 13ppg 10rpg 2bpg and shoots over 50% from the field. And you only give up wallace/a first. How does that force JJ and Wright to play more? You have the same amount of bigs...

Eventually you gotta look for long term replacements at center, Z isn't getting any younger and opportunities to lget a good young one like this don't come around to often.

Don't look so terrible to me but okay. I actually thought you were gonna say its terrible for the other teams or something lol..

I guess I went too far with the JJ stuff, but I think we would be changing the chemistry of the team immensely and I find it important to have Andy off the bench for energy. But either way, it won't happen. I don't see us landing Kaman.

But yeah, after a second look while I'm not as wired up thinking about trade ideas, that is too much of a steal for us.

Very interesting...The Clippers have publicly stated they are not interested in a trade at this point.

Evening Scoop: Bobcats Blockbuster?

Sometimes it's not just the moves that are made, but the timing of said moves.

This afternoon the Charlotte Bobcats waived two players: Andre Brown and Linton Johnson III. A couple of weeks ago this would have raised no eyebbrows. Teams were cutting their rosters down to the required 15 for the start of the regular season. Now, however, it is more than a little suspisious.

There has been plenty of trade talk surrounding the Bobcats, who have made all but public overtures to the New Jersey Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers, and are openly shopping Gerald Wallace in their desire to land a true center to play next to Emeka Okafor.

Now they've suddenly waived two players, taking their roster down to 13.

Sounds like the Bobcats have a taker, and that in the deal they're getting back more players than they're sending out. According to a couple of well-informed sources the Bobcats have been aggressively working the phone lines as they watch their attendance drop in direct proportion to their winning percentage. It sounds like we could see a huge move made by the Bobcats in the next few hours.

Its unlikely to be us because we werent expecting a trade until January or February, but everyone knows Ferry works under the radar and we wouldnt hear a word about it till it happened.

Im hoping and praying for something here.

If we are not part of that deal, and I highly doubt it, then damn.

I wish we could get Gerald Wallace; he has been looking great lately. But I doubt he was part of the mystery deal unless this blockbuster is what we're waiting for (again, doubt it).

More info just posted on SI

Bobcats trying to upgrade in frontcourt

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -The Charlotte Bobcats waived little-used forwards Andre Brown and Linton Johnson and were on the verge of signing center Dwayne Jones on Wednesday.

The Bobcats were also one of several teams pursuing forward Antonio McDyess as the Bobcats look for ways to boost a thin front line.

General manager Rod Higgins said the 6-foot-11 Jones would likely sign on Thursday. The former Saint Joseph's big man has played 74 games for Cleveland and Boston, and had been playing overseas.

Higgins said he has been in contact with McDyess' agent, but that nothing is imminent with the free agent, who was waived by Denver last week.

Coach Larry Brown has continually lamented his frontcourt depth, and the Bobcats have been consistently out-rebounded in their 3-7 start.

Andre Brown was signed before training camp and played in four games, scoring four points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Johnson was signed just before the start of the regular season. He appeared in two games and did not score or get a rebound.

Signing Jones would leave the Bobcats with 14 players, one shy of the league limit.

That would leave room for McDyess, if he decides he wants to be reunited with Brown, his former coach in Detroit.

The veteran was sent from the Pistons to Denver earlier this month in the Allen Iverson-Chauncey Billups trade, then was waived by the Nuggets.

Several teams have contacted McDyess, who also could end up returning to the Pistons.

"In Detroit they used to call him my second son,'' Brown said. "The last thing I want to do is pressure him. ... But he would be perfect for this team.''

They cleared room to bring on Dwayne Jones, yeah thats a team loaded with talent it can give up, lol

I think theres gonna be a multi team trade happening here in the next few days. Its doubtful we're involved because its so early in the season and we're playing so well.

But I definitely wouldnt rule us being involved. You never hear about a deal until it happens when Ferry is your GM, and ya know he likes them 3 team deals. If he has the chance to get Gerald Wallace or someone like that in November, you bet your ass he gonna do it.

If the CAVS are involved then I would have expected W&G to have given some indication of a deal getting close for the team. He is usually pretty forthright information that doesn't compromise his sources.

He has given some hints, talked about a possible trade to bring a big and a sg back that includes AV

Nothing is going on with Wally right now in terms of a trade, i think it really is personal issues........

That was awhile ago and lots of wild speculation since then. Now, it appears a real deal of some sort is going down and since we haven't heard anything I just don't think the CAVS are involved. Although I am sure Ferry has explored the option of acquiring Wallace as well as Kaman for that matter...may not have the right pieces for the Bobcats or the price is too high??
