The Official Game of Thrones [A Song of Ice and Fire] Thread (includes spoilers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I thought the armies of Dorne were just exaggerated, not weak.

I think it amounts to the same thing. From what I can recall of what Doran Martell said, Dorne is basically able to protect itself because of its unique terrain and weather, but outside of Dorne, its armies wouldn't be much. It was only 10,000 Dornishmen at the Trident.

That's more than half what Robb Stark had and he was a huge threat to the Lannisters, for some reason that I never figured out. I'd think the Dornish as an ally would be very big.

Well, they're a couple of weeks into filming, and no hint of Wyman Manderly. No hint of any additional characters in the North, for that matter. If true, that's the first thing they've done that I find very disappointing. For me, the depth of loyalty to the Stark family in the North was one of the more enjoyable aspects of ADWD. After a few books of beat-downs, it was nice to see something encouraging.

Plus, Frey pies.

Wonder if same thing with Sansa.

K so they'll be spoiling the Sansa/LF stuff.

Potentially. Or deviating from the books in a significant manner. Who knows at this point? I still have no idea how they plan to finish this thing in seven seasons.

Still don't think it's gonna be seven seasons. I mean, it'll be seven "seasons", but I'm almost positive at least season seven will be split like the Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, etc.

So instead of one, 10 episode "Season Seven", it'll probably be an 8 episode "Season Seven Part 1" and another 8 episode "Season Seven Part 2"

Guessing they have all the actors under contract for seven seasons, and this is how these shows skirt renegotiations.

Maybe, just maybe, he'll have the book finished and out in time before the season airs? There's still a good half a year plus before it's back on TV.

God, that would be amazing.

But doubtful. LOL.

:chuckle: You must be new here.

On a related note, Martin recently said that, in his rush to finish the book, he'd be narrating every chapter as Hodor:

Neg, I'm in that glorious in between period of optimism from the cavs offseason lifting me up, before the browns season brings me down.

On the plus side, you only have to suffer through about eight weeks of the Browns being terrible before the Cavs season starts!
