All right, let's add that to the list:

Great weather
School to be out
A winning team
A team that also won last year
Marketable players
Players that are active in the community
Big offseason acquisitions.

This just isn't a baseball town. It wasn't a baseball town from 1960-1993, became a baseball town when football left, and then stopped being a baseball town again from 2001-2012.

I still wonder if Dolan couldn't make a killing selling this team to an owner that wanted to move them out of market.

I got laughed at when I said last year the Indians will move and it looks more and more possible every game.

Why would Dolan sell the team when he can continue to make a profit by not having a high payroll?

I think they have like 13 years left on the lease... It could happen then but I have a hard time seeing the Tribe being moved.

It's 11 more years. If we only get 1 playoff birth in those 10 years it won't be good.

Who and when did Cleveland call themselves the fans best in the world? Perez and this team are acting more entitled than the fans. They haven't been around the last 10 years to watch the shit show what is called the Cleveland Indians.

You've seriously never heard this crock? Ask anybody over the age of 35 and they think that Cleveland is the only place in the world. They may have not watched other teams in other sports for a decade, but they're damn positive that this City is the pinnacle of the sports fandom. Ironically, those are the people who are sitting around saying, "I'm not going to the game, they'll just lose eventually."

The younger generation is going to need to be the ones who step up and go because a large faction of the older generation is generally salty and defeated.

80-82 is winning?

Shrug. He's a daisy if he does.

So is your argument that a team that is in first place up to July but then fades deserves to have the worst attendance in all of MLB by 4k people?

If the Browns went 4-2 to start the year and ended 7-9 people would freak. The Cavs came out and won a few games early in the year and people thought they were playoff bound. The Tribe does it and it is a reason to NOT go to games.

No, my argument is that finishing under .500 does not constitute "winning." No more, no less.

Would two more wins really have changed your perception of last years club?

I can't say I would view them any differently.

The Indians win at the start of almost every season as of late then fizzle out... that's why nobody gives a rats ass about this team until they prove they are going to consistently win the ENTIRE season and into the FUTURE not just in April/May of 2012...

I don't think that's been said yet in this thread. Good point!

So fans shouldn't attend games until they win the World Series? Are you saying it is a bad thing they started hot? Would it fix attendance problems if they lost more games?

Again- we're not talking bad attendance by skeptical fans, we're talking worst attendance by far. The Indians started hot, then faded. SO did the Pirates and Reds, why are they both outdrawing us by 7k+?

If by almost every season you mean last year, then yes. It's a good point.

They were 11-9 this year in April. Prior to last year, their last winning record in April was 2007.

More bullshit excuses from bullshit fans.

I was being sarcastic. The same arguments have been said 15 times in here. This thread needs closed.
